I know that feeling. I was on Yokohama A.Drives, built for maximum fuel economy and mileage. Less than ideal for track work. They were only 12,000km old when the shoulders started breaking into pieces, 2 QR afternoons and 1 Lakeside morning and they were totally rooted. I thought I'd need an angry alignment to rip through them, turns out they were so hard compound that they just broke apart instead of wearing. I'd expect KU31s should be a pretty significant improvement for anything similar to that.
