I know that feeling. I was on Yokohama A.Drives, built for maximum fuel economy and mileage. Less than ideal for track work. They were only 12,000km old when the shoulders started breaking into pieces, 2 QR afternoons and 1 Lakeside morning and they were totally rooted. I thought I'd need an angry alignment to rip through them, turns out they were so hard compound that they just broke apart instead of wearing. I'd expect KU31s should be a pretty significant improvement for anything similar to that.

For anyone who doesn't want to trash new road tyres I have a set of worn re002's mounted on 15x6 1/2" rims available. Perfect for lakeside in the dry - worn to the wear markers. Would be perfect for someone just starting out and having a go at track days.

Would be best suited to a na.

If anyone is interested pm me and we can sort something out.

Well looks like I won't be making this feature value event.
Was considering spectating but that would just make me more upset.

Enjoy all!

Bugger, not good to hear. Hopefully a cheapish gearbox turns up soon.

Good luck with that. That is an ambitious goal.
Easier said than done.
Out last day at LS, only 7 cars in 64s or below.
All turbo/super , or Race cars with regulars who have been there quite a few times.

Every second, or tenth, below 68 is progressively harder to get.

I have been doing regular 64s, and random 63s for last 6 visits. Unless i change something on the car, like getting rid of two yr old RS3s, then it wont go any faster with me at the helm.
I also know when I push into 63s, I am getting closer to binning the car than i am comfortable with.

Take it easy with your goals until you see how it feels on the day.

I've been watching footage of Matt Davey's NB doing a 62.8sec lap on youtube, and trying to figure out where all the time comes from. Most of his corner speeds are quicker than mine, but only by a few km/h. 7.2 seconds worth of later braking than me? :(

I have not seen the lap you are referring to, but I'm willing to bet there is a second or so in the final turn. That then gives you another few tenths down the straight. That said, gentle four wheel drifts through that corner wondering if you'll have a enough track is a little scary. Speed under the bridge is also critical. You are not going to find the time under brakes, because they only get used properly once. Lakeside is a momentum circuit.

This is the one. The speed readout seems to lag half a second or so behind the video, so it's a little hard to tell speed at each point, but yeah. Very fast, without looking incredible.

Speed is only one of the components, you need to graph distance over time to see where the real differences are. Anybody have any of these graphs to put up?
