In other small-time news, Melbourne has been receiving high dosages of vitamin D and warm weather so time to take off the hard-top and chuck it into the garage much to the dismay of my parents..

Paint is getting a little dull again, when I get some free time will probs give her a wash and a wax down.

I'm still on stock sussy and may look into some coileez for some mad lowz.

Haven't updated this bad boy in a while now..

Was a bit worried when the steering was pulling to the left whenever I'd drive her at low and lightning fast speeds. Booked her in for a over-due wheel alignment after fitting the new(for me)/(oldish new)(newish old) wheels.

I've also found slight vibrations when driving her at over 100kph (is that EVEN possible?)

The vibrations are slightly gone but are still there, not sure if buckled wheels or just lack of power steering giving me too many feelz.
I've actually been driving the miata quite a bit really. To and from work.

Most recently; uni break. Off into the sunset (to Rosebud) with some mates for some chillz and drinking games.

The 8MR is my mech's car, uber lightning quick, just a tad quicker than the miata. Spoolz only help slightly.. wait who am I kidding. I'm definitely faster than him.

Scored and all-time low fuel usage @ 7.08ltr/100kms.

Not too sure how much more I have in this build. With turbo miata conversions so hard to register with all the million of hoops. Not too sure if this p plater chariot will stay with me till the end of time..

I've still got 2 years of p plater feel-good years before I can even consider turbo. Who knows might love having the 'vert life and keep her then give her to my son, who'll give her to his son and so on.

Just gotta see how things go..

Whoops forgot to update!

In slightly delayed (bad) news, I discovered once again that there are absolute n00b cakes on melbourne's roads. Last week I drove down to the city and parked in Lt Bourke. Finished with the clubs, drive home.

Some lil sh*t side swiped my car and left Misa with a battle scar.

Guess it'll have to be a post-exam project, repairing her front. Might sand down the whole thing and colour match the front this time (lol).

Any solutions? It's pretty bad poke brahs. Not too keen on BOLT on flares. Especially if they're irreversible.

Only solutions are flares or camber.

Camber is the easiest, flares are better (meaning you don't need to run with stupid camber and use half the inner sidewall as tread)

It's pretty much the price you pay for getting wheels in that fitment. Use a guard roller and camber or flares as hks_kansei said. The only other option is to sell the wheels and get something different. Welcome to the world of car modding :wink:

I was thinking flares but after speaking to a few guys, most likely going to lower and run camber just waiting on some coils to pop up/saving for them too! Haha. Thanks for the advice though! Appreciate it :)

Yeah I didn't realise no-one (in the states OR on the interwebs) with these wheels ran stock setup. So probs my fault on my part but I ain't going to sell up. I absolutely love the look of the wheels (minus the mexican siestas)_ so I'm going to try and endeavor, stick it through and make it work!

It’s your friendly neighbourhood Mexican here. I haven’t updated this naughty girl in a very very very very long time.

Yes. My passport still states Mexican residency and I’m still rocking poke worthy of ten thousand burritos. I have yet to find time to get me some coilovers so just gotta deal with the park-bench poke of death.

I’ve ordered a few parts to get Misa a little bit more streetable and driveable. Just little knick knacks or little life hacks more on that in the update.

Went for a bbq after my final exam for the semester, top down weather come at me.

Many of the miata owners will know that our interior lights are as good as sunglasses are at night. Instead of buying new LED bulbs to increase the visibility, there’s a cheap little mod you can do so that you can actually see where you dropped that 5 cent coin for your Mcdonalds cone or that condom that you may or may not need for later on... in the night time... in the park.. or a public toilet (idk where this is going..)

Basically you have rip(pull) out the housing then turn it upside down. That way instead of pointing usable light at your feet you can now point it at y0 face! How good is that?!

In all seriousness if you are asian and cheap and like saving money. Oh. And also own an mx5. Great little life hack to increase interior lighting. The light is shot more into the interior than the foot wells.


Went for a random run to Super Cheaper auto to pick up some car wash. At the counter there was a special for the black-ice car trees. $3 for 3. ZOMGDUCKsauce!

Grabbed them and chucked them in the car to help cure the interior air of unwanted farts HEHEHEHEHEHE.

Ordered some new headlight bulbs because dande runs have become quite dangerous when you can’t see sh*t.

Although the difference doesn't seem THAT big here. The new Osram bulbs have made a HUGE difference when avoiding pedestrians or night-time cyclists, jokes.. but actually not joking.

And the latest little upgrade I put in was a new gearboot. Arrived today. On boxing day! Yay presents after Christmas!

If you’ve read through my thread, you’ll know that the gearboot was ripping and tearing from the beginning. I tried sewing it up with my house-wife skills of life. However to no avail it’s still ripped and leaking hot air into an already hot car.
