These are probably them haha, the brand on them is D1 from Japan I believe. They were cheap so im keeping the stock latch for extra security.

Re: EOI: Dodgy Day Round 3
I probably have the templates at home and happy to lend them. Here is the link to my install http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=720665#p720665.
Get the pins in first where you want them, make sure that they hit the bonnet when you got to close them. Open the bonnet and put some chalk on the top of the pins, close the bonnet. When you open the bonnet drill the right size hole where the chalk was transfered onto the bonnet. It should not be that hard to make a template.
I also used this on my aerocatch as the bonnet is fibreglass http://miataroadster.com/password_jdm/password_jdm_aerocatch_mounting_plates/pwbamuniblk/i-249137.aspx and this comes with a solid template. I note that the new aerocatches come complete with fixing plates, this is a good move.

Ahh the chalk idea is brilliant! That was one of the steps that I was having trouble with figuring out how to do.
The other step I'm having trouble with planning is getting the bolts on the underside of the hood, is the only way cutting a hole under the hood?

If you take out the rubber bumps stops that are already there you can put the hood pin bolts in there. I had to cut some length off mine because it hit some of the air con stuff, but you trim them down last (if at all). If you have a look at the first few photos in my thread you can see where I mounted the pins. Good luck

Oops! I worded that in a rush and it was terrible haha. I meant how to get the 6 nuts on that screw onto the end of the bolts that hold on the actual clasp. My bad. :-(

Because you cut both sides of the bonnet and the screws go in easy. You may need to use the Dremel http://www.dremel.com/en-au/Pages/default.aspx or die grinder to make the cut out on the inside a bit bigger to tighten the nuts. I will see if I have some photos of the inside of the bonnet.

Ahhh sick. Yeah, I was worried about cutting the inside as well because I didn't know what it would do to structural integrity, but everything is cleared up! If you've got pics that'd be awesome
I don't know what an aglet is, but I do know what a fox says!

Went alright. Gear box in on the red car and springs and shockies replaced on the blue car. Will be tinkering on the red car this Saturday morning, so if anyone wants to pop in pm me for address.
