My ports were nice and smooth... I took one little edge off with the Drimmel, other than that they were schmick.
I take it this is not for an NA6?

Are these a secondhand set that have been repaired?

No, these are brand new for a NB8a.

Wow.... the difference in the finish is massive.
I wish I had taken a pic before the install to show the difference.

I have fitted a set of Empire Extractors to my 1990 NA back in January. Bought off Ebay and Picked them up directly from Dylan as I'm in Perth. Had no issues at all fitting them. The O2 Sensor hole was on the top of the pipe rather than the side. Had to undo the bracket so the O2 Sensor cable now runs along the top of the gearbox. Also had to drill out the manifold holes slightly to line up with the studs, but a minor issue. All in all, they look good and sound good. No complaints!

BUT, do they give any 'noticeable' performance improvement?
WAT WOULD WE DO IF WE WERE NOT AFRAID

Only way you would know is back to back before and after dyno runs as close together as possible to keep any variables as constant as possible.

But as they are shiny and make a noise they must make some improvement.....

Fitted my Empire headers for my NB today.

They required a bit of work to make the ports smooth but with a little bit of work I was happy with the result.
I had to modify the rear flange to fir the stock mid pipe which was a little surprising as no one has mentioned this before. The holes in the flange were too narrow for the stock mid pipe, so I cat out the ends of the flange so they would fit.

Performance wise the mid range was a little down but stronger from 4k rpm. Happy with the sound and the final fit but it was disappointing that I needed to clean up the ports and cut the rear flange.

So, If I had my time again, I would probably spend a little more on the X-force header.

And after a bit of finishing.......

They should have been better finished.

Just bought a set for my na6 for $149 including delivery. I know about the potential fitment issues but couldn't pass them up for the price!
