I think the parts say it all, CAS was leaking, first time under the bonnet of the 5 and i loved every minute of it, apart from the oil filter, other than that it all went to plan.

Yeah that first filter change is often a PITA ... after that, can only blame yourself if too tight :D

Never understand why so many people, mechanics included, tighten oil filters up so hard. So many of them never oil the seal either.

:BROADY: It took me ages to get the filter off the first time I serviced my car. Now it takes seconds. I also learned quickly that it's a good idea to throw a rag over the hose clamps for the fuel lines...

Couldn't put it in the boot and strap the boot lid down?

Nope, It had to stay standing up due to already having oil in it :(

Good thinking. I usually just leave blood stains all over them.

Last time I changed oil fuel and air filters, I also had to do heater hoses, rad hoses, radiator and a bunch of other stuff.
I swear I left 1/5th of my blood in the engine bay.

Fitted my Ultra Racing cabin brace and modified the wind blocker to retain its functionality.

Fitted my Magnecor 8.5mm competition leads. Feels like it has fixed the slight miss on first press of the throttle. :)

Also found one of the soft top drains was blocked this morning after last nights downpour. A quick visit to Bunnings and some flexi wire for tieing up plants and problem solved. :)
Just to dry the car out now.

Best way to dry the car is to pat out as much water as possible with a towel, then run it with heater and fan on max, aircon on if you have it, air to 'fresh' not recirc, and then let it run for 20 mins with the windows just cracked a little.

Forgot to put my window up once, started washing, took a good 2 minutes to realize I didn't put it up..

Cleaned out the air filter box. Found these plastered against the filter. Apparently there are some downsides about sucking air through the firewall from the air collector box.

For all the botanists among us I have identified Forest Red Gum (Eucalyptus terreticornis), Spotted Gum (Corymbia maculata) and Coast Banksia (Banksia integrifolia). :D

Sounds like a good time to check your 1/4 panels too.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
