Now having read up the variur swaps people have completed, I am having issues fitting my nb leather seats into my 90 na. The front seat rail bolt holes are a whole 10cm wider then on the na seats. Has any one had this issue?

Have a seat in each.
Every person is different.

Plenty of people say the NB8A seats are sh*t, and the NB8B seats are great.
Personally I've found NB8B seats to be sh*t, NB8A and NA I found were pretty similar.

I love my current seat, a Mazdaspeed B Spec fixed back, but my partner Pam thinks it's terrible.
She loves her Sparco-tec (or whatever it is, super light fibreglass thing) I think it's the worst seat I've ever sat in.

I find older cars have better seats, the ones in my old 82 626 were awesome, and the ones in our current runaround (holden Kingswood) are great as well.

That leather seat doesn't look like an NB seat ...

I fitted NB8B seats to an NA and once the rails were switched over they bolted straight in.

Agreed, the NB8B seats I just pulled out have the same rails as the NA6 seat in your pic but the other seats don't

Even the shape of that tan seat is different to an NB one.

NA/NB seats mount in exactly the same way, the only difference being the seatbelt stalk mount is slightly different on each.

Any ideas on what seat it could be then? The wrecker had them advertised as na seats as well.

Where could I find the part no for it? Where on the seat would it be?

Seats rarely have a part number from what I've seen.

Check that it isn't a passenger side seat, the passenger and drivers side are different (I doubt it's one though)

Do the seat rails from your existing MX5 seat fit on it? it possibly a seat that's been custom upholstered and re-shaped (I doubt it though)

Well it definitely isn't the wrong side, I made sure I had the belt buckle on the right side. The rails appear to be fixed to the slide mechanisms of the seats. You can only unbolt the base from them.

Totally stumped as to what to do...

The reason they don't fit is because it's not a NB seat.
Take them back for a refund.

Well now we all know that Toyota mr2 seats look similar to the NB seats and that they don't fit into a mx5..

Swapped them for some cloth nb seats and finally drove the mx. So happy.

They sit an inch or so higher than the old NA ones and you can find yourself peering through the very top of the windscreen or else reclining them so much to get your head down that you run out of foot room instead.

I heard that the NB8B seats sit lower than the NA's not taller.
Which version is correct? (Am guessing Manga_blue)

I'm quite tall and would like to sit a bit lower for visibility reasons. Would also like my head to sit against the head-rest and not above it.
Sun visors have been removed, what else could I do?

I also wish that the steering wheel was 30mm further back.
