So I have a bit of play in the front right wheel. It is evident when the car is jacked up, and if you pull on the outside of the wheel (hands parallel to ground) you get about 1-2* of play, which isn't present on the left side. So I pulled off brake rotor thinking it was the hub, gave that a tug and there is nothing moving. Put a dial gauge on it, and runout is within spec. I am 70% sure that I have tracked it down to the steering rack. The tie rod ends were replaced not long ago and still move nicely. Is there anything else that it could be? Is there anything in the tie rod itself which can wear to cause this play?
Thanks

Re: Play in the front right wheel
could be the rack itself or the inner ball joint. probably the later.
