Strong wires up the front
I just bought some lights which came with a wiring harness but it is meant to connect straight to the battery and isn't long enough to reach the back of the car, what positive wires are strong up front? i was thinking alternator power but are there others? I think from the wiring diagram i got it needed to be 25amp but i have lost the wiring diagram since then..

Starter motor, use an in-line fuse, route the cabling away from all of the stuff that gets hot and keep a note of what you havbe done, it will be easier to trace if there are ever any difficulties.

When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

The fat white wire off the alternator is OK too. Everything else Greg said is good.

My bad i didnt mean alternator, i meant starter motor. The harness came with an inline fuse so it should just wire up and ill wire it away from the hot stuff , thanks Greg!

There's also the central post in the fusebox which is a lot easier to get to than the starter/alternator.

This sounds the easiet and safest to access, is it straight forward finding which one is the central one or is there a 'manual' or guide around? Im missing my owners manual so can't look it up

Re: Strong wires up the front
I can't say for sure on an NA, but on my NB it was as simple as opening the fusebox in the engine bay.
In the centre you should be able to see a large bolt head with a fairly thick wire leading to it's base.
Just remember to undo the battery before you touch it, so you don't accidentally short the spanner on something.
