Re: Leather Seat Experiences
As mentioned leather is to hot or cold depending on the season, first thing to be done on the NC was to have good quality sheepskin covers installed

Re: Leather Seat Experiences
I have returned to my stock na8 seats (black leather) in mine. Previously had some big bolstered mazdaspeed-esqe style leather seats up until july this year. (removed as i had to have my hard top on due to a slashed soft top, and my seatbelts wouldn't retract with the hard top and big seats)
Dan is very correct, the 'sports' seats will shrink your cabin space a lot..
My stock ones now, i have more leg room, can extend the seat nearly 2" further back, and i sit more then 2" lower in the cabin compared with the aftermarket ones i had earlier.
As for the leather, yep, very slippery getting and out of the car when they're cleaned. I think this makes it hugely easier to get in and out of this way.. Previous lowered car i had with fabric seats eventually wore the material down on the door side of the thigh bolster - more grip, made it harder to let go of my jeans when i was twisting myself out of the car, and this wore the seat material considerably.
In my current stock seats tho, once i'm seated, i'm seated. I dont move around, not on hard cornering nor hard breaking.
My body build is average build 76kg 5"8.. but if i was a twigbitch i still dont think i'd be moving much.
I dont like how there is no shoulder support on the stock NA/NB seats for me, and i love the look of the previous seats i had as well as the mazda speed seats, but my previous style seats still didnt give much shoulder support, even tho they looked designed to do so.
It's a very subjective thing.. Heaps of 'racing' seats look fantastic but very few are comfy or cosseting on for: your legs, lower back AND shoulders- you need to sit in them first to make sure it's all good.
As for being black leather, yep its warm to hot to touch in summer but then thats what the air con is for, and i never wear shorts so i never get burnt, and for me, thats moot.
Overall, i like them.
Margaret and David would give 3 and 4 out of 5 stars..

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was going go along the lines of; "I've often read about things like this happening to other people but, just yesterday, the most incredible thing happened to me ............"

Not quite what the mind conjured up for an MX-5 forum. This would probably be more appropriate.

Re: Leather Seat Experiences
Thanks for all the replies Guys.
Before this goes any further off topic, I've decided to give some Mazdaspeed buckets a crack. I had a set earmarked for my FD that I will now try out in the Roadster.
