After market panels
In my unsuccessful search for a good quarter panel for my NA I've come across after market panels that are half the price of originals. Has anyone used these guards and if so how close to original are they with regards to fitment etc.
NB SE, NA 1.8.

Re: After market panels
Haven't used any on an MX5.
But have used chinese panels on another car (ford Laser)
They did the job, they fit etc, but just be aware that the tolerances are likely to be a bit larger than a genuine panel.
Panel gaps are sometimes hard to get even, you might get the panel gap with the door fine, but the edge against the bonnet then sits high, fix that then the door is off agian. Etc.
In saying that though, the car I was helping work on had been hit fairly hard, so the mounts etc were probably a bit off as well (no way of saying how much was mounts, and how much was panel)

Re: After market panels
I have used the aftermarket front guards. Great quality, made from the original Mazda tooling set. No problems with fit or quality.
