So one of my belts is sqeaking/whistling and I want to determine if it's because it is not tight enough or something else. Is there a sneaky way to check tension without one of the tool things. Or, is there someone in the Northern Sydney area that I can borrow one of the tool things from please?
Thanks

Re: Checking accessory belt tension
Mechanics will test by just pushing on it with a couple of fingers,
To test that its definitely the belt just spray some soapy water on it while its running and you will know if its the belt or not.

Re: Checking accessory belt tension
Just as an FYI, I found the source of the noise, and it was the clutch slave not being lubed where it touches the fork.
