Well not quite.
While I would just recommend replacing the standard O2 for this car a wideband such as LC-01 and others actually are configurable to output one of the analogue outputs to be a narrowband.
This way you would be able to send a narrowband signal to your stock ecu and view what is really going on via your wideband gauge.
Have you tried just disconnecting the o2 sensor and seeing how the car behaves?
