Did the 100,00km timing belt change this weekend, all went smoothly apart from first forgetting to re-install the crank sensor plate then putting it in backwards . Replaced water pump, rocker cover gasket, spark plugs, top and bottom radiator hoses and did an oil change while I was at it.
Next step will be to replace the front pads and discs before the next club track day.

Penguin, saw your car parked at a servo as I motored through the south side of Ulladulla on Monday (15th). Was in my Pajero but Phil Reid was following in his blue NB8A. We were doing a trial run for a weekend we're organising for the Illawarra group. We were parked next to your brother at the last SMSP meet.

It's all here Peter. Going to be an excellent weekend!
NEIL'S WHALELESS WEEKEND
Meet: Hungry Jacks Haywards Bay
Time: 8:30am for 9:00am start
Details: Yes the run is "whaleless" because originally we were going to incorporate a whale watching trip and two nights away, but now we have decided that this trip will commence on Saturday 19th October and stay overnight at Braidwood where the whales are currently few & far between (unless global warming takes extreme hold!). From Haywards Bay, we'll head down the coast for lunch at Mogo, before climbing Clyde Mountain to our overnight stop at Cedar Lodge Motel. Those keen on more driving can enjoy an afternoon run to Araluen Pub. The return trip on Sunday will be via Goulburn with a tour and early lunch at Goulburn Brewery.
A detailed description is in the More Info. It's in your backyard so an overnight stay probably doesn't suit. However, you would be very welcome to tag along on the drive, say meet at Mogo and join us for the run to Braidwood and Araluen on the Saturday afternoon?

Re: My Black NB8A
I was aware of the run in October I just hadn't put 2 and 2 together. I may come along, I will have to see how my work schedule looks closer to the date.

Old Goulburn brewery is putting on a guided tour (with beer tasting) and lunch for the group on the Sunday for very minor outlay e.g. tour/tasting and lunch can be done for $25 ... or a bit more if you want.
By the way, what are you doing about your wayward wheel caps off the 6ULs?

I'm not bothered about my missing wheel caps, if the remaining ones fall off they fall off.

X-Force extractors, custom mid-pipe and a RS*R GT2 Exmag rear muffler.

Re: My Black NB8A
Time to get serious about power , I have finally decided that I will be building my motor up to be an NA screamer complete with ITB's .
I am currently chasing up a lead on a very good price for a EMS Stinger but if that falls through I will be going with a Megasquirt, at the same time I will fit the Jenvey ITB kit. Once I have some more money saved up a replacement motor will be swapped in while my current motor gets treated to 11:1 compression, head work and some meaty cams.
Can't wait to hear it on the dyno .

Re: My Black NB8A
Black_Penguin when my natural aspirated engine, complete with Jenvey ITB's, head work, meaty cams and 11:1 compression i can give you some idea what to expevt. Give Pat a ring at Competition Systems and discuss the Jenvey as he has been very helpful. Make sure you order the LB01 linkage bracket and how you are going to adjust the idle air. I have removed both the power steering and the air con so we may not need the idle air control valve.
I will be passing all the data onto Competition Systems once my build is finished so that they can give other MX5 owners some idea what to expect when going to ITB'S. Plus they also supplied my ride height sensors so I'll be supplying them this data as well.
Great to hear another person doing a natural aspirated build.
