Lakeside Bites Again.......

Postby MattR » Thu Sep 19, 2013 4:42 pm

Looks like we lost another 5 at Lakeside yesterday.

I have heard that an MX5 went in pretty hard near the bridge and the result was messy, hope the driver is OK and the car repairable. A quick look on Natsoft, and I think I can work out who it was, but until more comes to light it would only be conjecture.

I'm amazed that Lakeside is still open to be honest. So many bad crash reports seem to come out of the place.

Everyone is made well aware of the risks at driver briefing. It is unfair to close a track because some people crash there. For every crash that you've heard of, there are many many more people who have dríven there without crashing. It's a case of driver beware, which applies equally at any track.

Good to see Chris is OK, I bet he is a bit sore though.....

Pity about the car, but if it bounced off the armco without digging in it may be just panels and no chassis damage.

My desktop has the result of me spearing off under the bridge a little bit quicker, lucky for me I did a full 360 just tagging the fence losing only a headlight bucket, front spoiler and corner off a fibreglass bonnet and a dented guard. A day's work and it was up and running again in a sort of presentable fashion.

Cheap SP for sale

Chris may be looking to get something more dedicated for future track days. Possibly non MX5.

What was his safety setup, this was a road car presumably if he had airbags?

Glad he is ok. Better dented pride than physical injury.
