Even though I say complete I really don't mean it, I will keep building and working on my car. It never ends! And I think many out there can relate

Big thanks goes out to mate Ian for helping me the last couple of days to get it running. A few issues here and there but all sorted now.

I've done about 500kms already and have loved every second of it. The noise and power increase, the engine has brought the car to a new level and I'm absolutely stoked with the results. Can't wait to build the high compression bottom end!

I was a bit slack with the photos, was too caught up in the moment. But here are a few snaps anyway.

The idle was really rough and shaking the engine a lot, once the throttle bodies were balanced everything became very smooth and idle was much nicer.

A few early mornings were involved to get the cold start idle and cranking settings.

Good news, when mine is finished we can compare notes. So is there any chance of you bringing your ITB's to Philip Island in August 2014?

So been struggling the last few weeks to get the tuning done using the Megasquirt's "ITB Mode".

I'm now doing an Alpha-N tune and it's been going well! I'll be driving down to Sydney in a couple of weeks too.

Have you tried using Alpha-N as primary and speed density as a secondary multiplier for engine load? You still keep the vertical axis on the fuel and ignition maps as TPS, but it removes the madness about figuring out where WOT is a low revs and having to have lots of bins close by at small throttle openings. It works a bit more like tuning speed density and does not have the split table thing going on like ITB mode. That is how I tuned my ITBs on both my old engines, seemed to work pretty well.

To set up, select Alpha N as the control algorithm in the engine constants page and then select speed density as the secondary fuel load in the more engine constants page, with secondary fuel set to multipilicitive.

Love the thread, by the way and the level of perfectionism in what you do.

It might be something I'll give a go later, but a bit hesitant because I think I'll have a hard time finding a dyno tuner who will be enthusiastic about using the blended tables. That's the reason why I've decided to just do Alpha-N, any tuner can fiddle around with that.

Will do guys, I'll be down there for WTAC. Was talking to Nick and there might be a chance I'll be displaying the car at WTAC with a bunch of other MX-5s.
