I love to see writeups of road trips! Nice purchase Dave congratulations.

I'm trying to get the car to a point which I feel it will cope with a Bris -> Perth return drive... really want to drive it being an original sandgroper I've got no shortage of reasons to go... it's the lack of twisty roads in the middle bit that makes it seem not so worthwhile!

The WA "half sized" plate doesn't match the OEM bolt holes so I needed something, the bonus is a junkie can't want past with a flat head screwdriver and try and jam it in the lock.

I still want to see the Mazda emblem painted bronze to match the rims - a trip to the toy store for some model airplane paint should find you a colour that's pretty close (I'd also like to see some bronze stripes but that might be pushing Okibi a little too far).

I'd leave the black and gold for the Gorilla Soupla.

Black rims would look good.

Finally got around to putting my 2nd Sparco seat in the SE.

Had to mount the seatbelt/harness bolt on the transmission tunnel.

New harness

And done

What model Sparco is that Dave, and how well do they fit?

Sparco roadster (and roadster II)

They JUST fit, if you're not a fat fat fatty fat like me then there might be better options.

They'd make good passenger seats though, because they take harnesses but they're fairly easy to get in and out of. It's a shame they're a bit pricey compared to the Sprint and other entry level seats.

So Lokiel was playing with foglight ducts.

My NB had a set made out of downlights but for the SE I was hoping for something a bit more off the shelf.

I was ordering some stuff from Demon Tweeks and decided to get these:

I went with the 76mm (trying to remember why I chose that size)

andddddd they're too big (I mocked up the size I need with a bit of plastic from a take away container)

Here's a very rough idea of how much needs to come off.

The cut will be at the end of the cone shape so hopefully if I cut them here they'll *just* sit flush on the lip of the fog light hole.

If your air duct hose is the same as mine, it's 76mm ID which explains why you ordered the 76mm kit.

You can buy the components individually so thanks for that, I'm going to order the following, cut the ducts down to size and DIY a rear plate to sandwich the bumper between to secure it in place:

The ducting clip is much lighter than the clamp I was planning to use which is another plus.

Your SE will have so much horsepower you'll want that extra weight to stop it from taking off.

So I decided to try the Bitsashitty Eclipse Fast n Furious style vent mod

Difference was I tried to keep some of the extra flap at the back of the vent.

To the left of the glove box I had to shave part back so it would fit inside the pipe work.

In the middle tried the option to sand back the vent so it was the same size as the original vent, it fit in well but it sat so deep I couldn't utilise the same groove and the mazda vent holders.

So I kept this one larger so the grove was at the right distance.

Because the factory pipe is a weird shape I only kept half of the blocker deeper in the vent.
