ADM NA6 & NA8 offset=+45
ADM NB8A & NB8B offset=+40
FWIW, Norm Garrett's thoughts (published in 1998) were:
"But to the critical enthusiast, a 10mm difference [in offset] will create unacceptable handling quirks", & "Up to a 205mm wide tire can help a Miata handle better..."

Some interesting discussion re Garrett's overall thoughts:

Replicate the 6UL sizes and you'll be right.

Such as 15 x 7 +36 with a 195/50/15 tyre.

Really can't go wrong with that :)

wow, so according to him, i will be guaranteed to win against another mx5, with different suspension setup etc, with a stock mx5 with better tyres, if i drove both of them, and compared the times?

Assuming both of you drive the same. It comes down to what you are used to as well.
