Re: NC Track Car - In the Build
LD negotiations.
LD's are too much!
So you are saying that you can't complete the job on time?
Of course we can finish on time!
So why do LD's matter if you are so confident?
Rinse and repeat....
My role is one where I get to decide if LD's are applied. Sorry sailaholic I do not get excited by technical details but do with contract departures and special conditions.

Haha, my current project is a little like that. Currently costing one party over $3mil a month

When results speak for themselves - don't interrupt.

As you know I'm NOT technically minded but following this topic I'm having so much fun and have almost worn Mr Google out!!
I'm also proud to be able to say that I have been looking at THAT NC now for over 3 years and to see it last week and being worked on, well - pass another tissue please!!
I LOVE IT!!
PS: I know how fast the green NC can pass me between turns 1 and 2 at QR, I think when this gets on the track I'll just leave mine in the pits and watch from the guard rails!!
I'm glad that you are enjoying the build Roger. I must say it's given me some renewed enthusiasm in other areas in my life too.

Thanks Tim. I'm really trying to showcase the products and services of my business divisions. For those of you who have an interest in World Time Attack, a vehicle that I'm involved with was officially announced as a Pro-class entrant today http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index.php/direct-from-usa-amb-aero-pro-class-mitsubishi-eclipse/. It has good pedigree and with some "Aussie know-how" we expect to see it keeping the AWD entrants on their toes (as it is FWD).

Time for some action on the left engine mount. Same concept as the right engine mount.

The engine mounts when viewed from below.

Some important components for the build have also been acquired over the past few weeks. The first being the clutch and flywheel assembly. It is an ATS & Access twin-plate carbon clutch and lightweight flywheel assembly. I don't know whether it's the standard or spec II (http://www.ppi-ats.com/carbon_clutches/Twin_Carbon.html) specification....just that it worked really well on a friend's bridge-ported 13B rotary engine that was fed by no less than an HKS T51R SPL turbo. It made ridiculous torque so it should be sweet behind my little old naturally aspirated 20B!

The other very important item was the oil tank for the dry sump arrangement. It's a Petersen Fluid Systems product and has a 2 Gallon capacity. It will be mounted in the boot.

Cheers,
Danny

Hardly Mark!

To facilitate the dry sump arrangement and the aero package, the boot received some attention. Boot be gone!

The dry sump tank is positioned here.

Some thought was also given to the rear section of the exhaust system. As previously mentioned the exhaust primary pipes (3 x 2") collect into a single 3.5" tube. I know I'm probably dreaming that I'll ever get the exhaust noise quiet enough to have a run at Lakeside, but I collected the primary pipes just forward of the rear axle to allow for the largest off-the-shelf resonator I could easily get my hands on. From here the exhaust travels under the rear subframe on the factory route into the largest off-the-shelf muffler I could easily get my hands on. The rear muffler is positioned nice and high, angling up to assist with the rear aero design.

The exhaust will exit the body through a centred hole in the rear bumper.

Cheers,
Danny

I a, changing my side exit to a rear exit like yours. Makes much more sense for aero, etc.

I was going to make the comment that mine feel so inadequate when compared to yours, but that could be taken in the wrong way especially when we were comparing sizes on Saturday...

I can't wait to see the jet of flame coming from that exhaust, lets hope the rear bumper doesn't melt like an RX7.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
