Hey mate.
What plans do you have for your window switches? I'm not sure how I want to relocate them, or just source the parts for manual windows

Re: itrungs NA8
I'm currently looking at replacing them for a manual window setup.
My goal was to de-clutter the tombstone and centre console area, so reducing the number of switches and trim located there was my main goal.
I'm currently in the process of redesigning the window switch to mount it in a better location but if that doesn't work, I'll just go for a manual window setup.

I just relocated my window switches to my tombstone using toggle switches (thanks to your stainless panel, John) with the help of a mate. There are a couple of write-ups on the wiring (pretty simple) and you can buy the connector to make it totally plug and play.

Re: itrungs NA8
So I haven't been able to update this in a while because of university however I'll try my best over the coming weeks.
UPDATE!
After owning a crystal white hardtop, a lightyear carbon fibre hardtop and seeing how clean wassup's car was in person, I knew I had to lay my hands on an OEM hardtop again. However, I would only buy one that was in the correct white, a.k.a chaste white and one that also had a demister fitted to it.
After browsing the forums late one night, I spotted one for sale that fitted my description to a tee. I promptly contacted 'marty085' and went to inspect it asap. It was in mint condition, and thanks again to 'marty085', for driving it up to my place because my car had no soft-top, coupled with the fact that it was raining that entire weekend.
Unfortunately I sold off the carbon fibre hardtop, however I am planning on fabricating my own carbon fibre hardtop once my uni holidays commence (about 9 months time) so stay tuned for that.
The main features; uses oem window rubbers and seals, will be able to utilise oem latches, screws, bolts and frankenstein bolts (and hence aftermarket latches as well), option of glass, lexan or glass w/ demister for the rear window and can optionally be painted to colour match your vehicle for that sleeper touch. I was often asked by hwp if my roof was carbon fibre or carbon fibre vinyl. I always said the latter, however it only takes 1 guy to realise that I'm lying and hit me with a defect.
Also purcashed some hardtop brackets and stainless steel screws from omgpham. I've fitted these before to my old mx5 before and they did make a world of difference. The hardtop doesn't feels alot more secure than the oem latches.
No pics as of late, however I'll try and upload some over the weekend.

Here's a pic of the hardtop fitted. Also purchased some OMGpham hardtop brackets and stainless steel screws as well.
Also purchased a genuine oem lip (made in canada on the back of the lip) from japan yahoo auctions. Primed it and re-painted it black. It has a few deep scratches, however I'll attend to that when I have time.

Re: itrungs NA8
UPDATE! It's been awhile since I've updated this thread. I haven't been able to do much to the car because of uni (the hours for Mech Eng and Mathematics are just ridiculous) but my plans for the car have changed somewhat.
So I'll be on my fulls in about 1.5 years lols, so I've decided to save up for the car I want on my fulls as well as owning this car. Eventually this car will be the daily, whereas the other one will be the weekender.
So instead of going all out, it'll just be a nice daily/occasional fun track car.
So here's an update of what I've done so far;
- M2 Runabout Mirrors
- Zoom Engineering Fuel Lid
- NB Carpet
- OMGpham Hardtop Brackets
- NB Roadster Floor Mats

Re: itrungs NA8
Swapped out the old spark plugs for some new iridium ones, and the old dirty air filter for a new one. A post without pics, is a boring one, so I'll leave this with you guys.

Re: itrungs NA8
Gave the car a wash today. Pictures definitely don't do this car justice.
Always wanted to take a nice an interior shot of the car from this angle.
My favourite part of the car at the moment.
After a few more months of ownership, there are a few items that need attending to:
- the bushes on the lower part of the shock are somewhat gone
- power windows are extremely slow (might consider swapping them out for a manual window setup)
- paint on the rear bumper has cracked (either replace or repair, whichever options is cheaper)
- the boot floor panel has quite alot of surface rust that needs to be attended to asap
- the tan coloured seats and door pockets are starting to annoy me
- the gearknob is annoying me
- carpet needs to be steam cleaned
- it needs LE tie rod ends
- updated suspension setup, either a high end shock and spring combo or some bilstien/ohlins coilovers (no BC or Yellowspeeds or anything of that sort)
- respray the swaybars to prevent rust (most likely in red)
- roll bar
- THEN SOME TRACK TIME!!!

Enjoying watching the progress.
One idea for the slow electric windows is take the switch apart and clean the contacts. Did wonders for my NA's windows!

Thanks for the tip KevGoat. I'll have a go at that next week and post up the results.
Interior Update WOHOOOO!!
I had time a few days ago and removed the surface rust from the boot floor panel. It wasn't that interesting so unfortunately there are no pics. I also resprayed the rear swaybar red and the swaybar mounts black. Once I have time, I'll give the front swaybar a new lick of paint.
I managed to source out a few interior bits and pieces. I think these additions really set off the interior.
- Zoom Engineering Leather Door Pulls
- East Coast Miata Leather Handbrake and Gear Gator
- OEM Gear Knob
- JDM NB RS Driver and Passenger side seats with seat rails and seat belt stalks (no more tan seats!!!)
Currently looking for a manual window setup instead of the power windows.
Also looking at swapping out the doorcards for a black setup. Might fabricate my own doorcards.
Also trying to devise a clean and subtle triple guage setup.
Unfortunately semester 2 has begun again, so updates will be very slow over the next few months.

Wow, thats an excellent spot there Marty. The gear knob is indeed from an NB (I actually prefer it over the NA gearknob).

Re: itrungs NA8
So after selling a few bits and pieces off the car (bye bye M2 mirrors), I decided to improve the current suspension setup. I was still rolling on 19 yr old bilsteins dampers and stock springs. The bushes needed replacing, the dust boot covers were torn and the ride was abit too harsh for Sydney roads. The car was also starting to squeak like crazy (was driving me insane).
So I decided to wait it out and finally, I've managed to pick up a set of koni adjustable dampers and lowering king springs at a great price.
Koni
8041 1203 SPORT
8041 1204 SPORT
King Springs
KMRL-53
KMFL-52
The seller also offered to install them at his own workshop (Woot Mechanical) as well, and I can't thank him enough. They were very friendly and the service was great, top blokes.
I really like how the car sits now, not too low but lower than stock.

Re: itrungs NA8
Update!
A few days ago I headed down some amazing driving roads and drove the car hard, and I mean really hard. I still cannot believe the potential of these cars around tight bends etc. Still have alot to learn when it comes to driver skill but I'm definitely more keen than I've ever been in regards to track time.
AGI Hardtop Only Roll Bar Installed!!!
Installing the rollbar was a pretty massive job (About 8hrs in total). The process pretty much involved alot of drilling, some angle grinding, cutting, filing, removing panels and trim and checking if everything lines up well. All worth it in the end though.
Next update will probably be fuel filter, brake pads & rotors and various small addons for the car.

Re: itrungs NA8
So on the 6th of January I headed over to otomoto, http://www.otomoto.com.au/ and picked up a set of HSD HR coilovers.
I also decided to pick up a set of coil spring compressors to help with the install.
HSD HR Specs
Monotube
16 way adjustable
Base height adjustable
F: 9kg/mm, R: 6kg/mm
Installation was fairly simple, both of the links below are excellent guides,
http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=403755
http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=403704
I also completed a wheel alignment to these specs (sourced from 949racing, http://949racing.com/miata-race-alignment-info.aspx)
Front Camber: -1.3°
Caster: > 4°
Front Toe: 0
Rear Camber: -1.7°
Rear Toe: 0
Thoughts so far, the car handles extremely well but I'd like to continue fiddling around with it till i get as close as possible to perfect.
Next update will include some Boss Frog Arms!!!!
