Using an NA one in the later NA8's not good - oil pressure doesnt work. Make sure its calibrated for your car.

^not to sure what you mean by that, as the KG works cluster is just a fancy dress plate that replaces the oem plastic. Its not actual gauges.
You can also get the gauge faces that you swap into your cluster, but afaik they are the jdm 180km speed etc.

Some of the KG works faces do have 220km/hr, but quite a speedo misread with 180km/hr ones. :)

Spot on emily_mx5. I forgot mine came to me secondhand with the instruments attached. The only problem I have with the panel is glare on the glass but can live with that.

Does the oil pressure gauge work on any mx5's? Doesn't work on any nb's afaik - mine and everyone else's I know certainly don't.

NBs have it, but it seems to be just along for the ride.

95+ cars have a gauge however it doesnt indicate actual pressure, its attached to a pressure switch rather than a sender and simply shows 2/3rd pressure on the gauge assuming you have any oil pressure. So it just sits stationary, the 89-94 cars have a proper gauge that moves around.

Do u think Mazda actually saved that much $$ by replacing it with a static gauge!? I remember reading Bob Hall saying he thought it was a ridiculous move.

Its not about that its about not confusing people.

Ive seen people worry about a moving oil pressure guage more than once now.

Mazda were under significant financial pressure in the mid 90s. the Chrome trim rings around the speedo/tacho are also missing on later NA8s.

No idea on actual numbers but deleting a $20 part on say 50 thousand cars is a decent saving.

Danns also right about people being being concerned about a moving gauge.

As for the OP, whether or not they look good is just personal preference, but I'm happy with mine. there will be heaps of images on google to help make up your mind
Install is easy, just unclip the old cover and plug in the new one, just be careful removing the cluster hood.

The oil pressure guage thing was just stoopid, they should have stuck a voltmeter in there, at least you could monitor your battery.
