Cheap ebay 'Empire Performance' extractors anyone?
Anybody have any first hand experience with these?

The price is certainly right, I wasn't even considering extractors at this stage but it's almost worth doing for $234.

look like every other ebay extractor available. id make sure the fitting for the O2 sensor is threaded correctly, the ebay one i bought many many years ago was threaded wrong. remember to degrease the thing before you start the engine up too, otherwise your finger prints will be permanently etched into them forever.. ask me how i know this

Cheap and Ebay means junk. When was the last time you purchased a 'no name' item from ebay and it was rubbish.

Re: Cheap ebay 'Empire Performance' extractors anyone?
very general and rather unfair comment bruce. I've seen/inspected several "cheap" exhaust systems laid side-by-side with expensive AutoExe et al, and the only thing that can be "wrong" with the cheaper product is perhaps they use a cheaper metal, but obviously you can't tell by sight. Fitment and welds are comparable.
I bought a "cheap" radiator (Fenix), as have many others, and they've had little to no problems whereas others who equate quality with price have bought PWR and have had fitment issues.
Many people laud X-Force products....

Re: Cheap ebay 'Empire Performance' extractors anyone?
Cheers guys
Bruce: I've bought HEAPS of cheap ebay car stuff over the years, and aside from the occasional fitting issue at first (which usually just requires minor adjustments), most of it's been great
Used to have a cheap ebay downpipe on my old Celica GT-Four, never cracked in the several years I had it fitted. Had a short shift kit on my MR2 which worked great. Both of these items were likely Chinese 'replicas' of FAR more expensive items.
Might give one of these systems a go if I have some cash left over after Xmas, $234 isn't much money to try something

I bought my WRX exhaust of Dyl and it had to be modified to fit but in the end it was a cheaper solution than a locally made exhaust.
I'm not sure if there are from the same supplier but I could find out.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: Cheap ebay 'Empire Performance' extractors anyone?
Hi guys,
The "Empire Performance" is a bit of a newie here in Perth, from what I understand it's been started up by a well known Nissan enthusiast to provide china based cheap performance parts with as much quality as is possible at the price. I fitted an exhaust to a 180sx drift car a few weeks back and couldn't find anything overly wrong with quality and fitted just fine .
I am a sucker for a sexy weld though, makes me all giddy

Well he should go gangbusters $155 for extractors/headers is cheap. My theory is more to test if cheap=quality. should be interesting.

I bought a no name set off eBay at least 6 years ago. they were stainless and I got them coated which brought them up to the price of named ones. Have performed flawlessly. Now going for more power so have put a gearbox bracket on them.
NB SE, NA 1.8.

As with alot of cheap units, the collectors aren't done correctly. A decent set will get you a marginal increase, so a set like this you're unlikely to even feel the difference and it would be debatable whether there even was a positive difference. Stick to buying ones that work and save yourself the headache.
