Washed and vacuumed the car one last time before the university semester begins.
I also tightened up the interior bolts/screws which ceased 99% of the rattling.
Removed the front driver side baby teeth hook.

After so many hours and many fail attempts , I finally succeeded in making my virgin heat shield for my K&N Typhoon cold air intake.
This is just a stage one, waiting for more parts come in next week, then the heat shield will be stronger and more heat resistant.

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
I bought one of those ebay CF dash bezels that was <AUD20 delivered.
Easy to fit. Pull the cluster out, remove the front plastic, and fit the overlay.
(I'm actually pretty happy with this photo! It looks like I know what I am doing...which I don't
)

Not too bad. It is real CF, and the fit is tight on the SE instruments, namely the fuel and temp gauges.
The big gauges were no problem.
To me, it ties off my interior as it follows the same CF theme I have through the dash.
And the weave is in the same direction too. That was flukey!!

It is quite glossy and I may sand it down for a matt look later....

But for <$20, it will do!

Looks great FFG
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Sold "Mexie" ...
Watched her go round the corner with more than a little regret. But very happy she's gone to a good home and certain that the new owners will thoroughly enjoy her ...

first oil Oil, sparks & radiator water change in about 4 years.....unlocked at least 10 killer wasps.
Yes I should be ashamed of myself....but I'm not. patchy has been through a shiteload in the last few years & been totally neglected. most members here who remember her would be somewhat shocked.
She's done no more than maybe 2k km in the last 12 mths . she spent almost 3 mths unregistered. Then the neighbour backed into her door. the ECU got flooded & then someone broke in & smashed the windscreen with the fire extuingusher
I think its time to wake up Patchy again.
