Yes, but add up the 'other makes' that have attended and nice to see just how much these guys contribute to our costs and so much appreciated as well

Keep the battle going guys!!

Pirate.

Its a shame Jaron missed the First round - it would have been a great tussle

Yes I agree, Shows how two completely different cars can be within a whisker of each other. I love it!

Corners, I have 2 things on you vid that could help bring down times.

1) Upon approaching Karousel there is no need for being that close to the left hand edge. I suggest positioning the car at about 1 car width in. That could save you from doing a few unnecessary metres and thus time.

2) After Karousel, at the top of the hill, instead of moving to the inside of the track to go under the bridge stay out wide and make a sweeping turn in to apex around 10m out from the bridge then look to place the left wheels over the ripple strip on the outside of the track on the downhill and make a straight line for where the official's umbrella is to set up for Hungry.

Hope that helps

Jaron,

When I get a spare afternoon, wander over and I can go through some videos of my car and hopefully we'll get some time for you.

From the quick look, I can get you a little more speed onto the straight, also you can move further to drivers right down the straight to take a wider arc through the kink that gives you a bit more speed through the kink. I have my ideas on the karasel and also round the back that could help you. Also go back through what Doug told you from earlier in the year at Lakeside.

I'm not really experienced enough to give my opinion but anyway, I do a similar line to you except exiting hungry I let the car slide out to the right and hug the inside of eastern loop. It works in my car because it is very tail happy but probably not ideal for most.

Here is a random video of mine from a few years ago, too bad I had the top down so it is hard to hear, plus the instructor's helmet gets in the way a fair bit:

He's not holding my hand by the way...

There's lots of opinions on how to drive Lakeside, I guess you just have to try different lines and see which work for you!

Tim
that appears to be the line Doug showed me.
He teaches hitting the apex on both parts of karousel as you did above.
On approach to Hungry, he teaches aiming more to the right, at the 'lights' not the flag marshal stand.
This opens the corner more, and then he runs you up the centre of the hill, keeping away from the drop off camber bit to the right.

The way I look at it is.....
There are three kind of race/track drivers, those that can and those that can't and the very small few with real talent. There is nothing that is going to change that.

I.M.O. Just enjoy the drive, don't try to hard at Lakeside. The walls are very close, with very little run off. The place has killed, put people in hospital and totaled plenty of cars.

It must have been some meet! One of my friends asked me about the noise limits, I said 95dB, so he then proceeded to tell me they were at North Lakes Westfield and could here the cars from there!! That's a hell of a long way from the circuit so maybe the Council allowed an amnesty for the weekend?

Apparently Lakeside can have 4 noisey meetings a year. These meetings are the big ones for the "originals" sports cars, open wheelers and tourers. Or they have been in the last couple of years anyway.
