jackmack wrote:Thank you one and all for a great day at Lakeside. My first track event and to say the least I do still have a grin from ear to ear on my face. The suggestions and assistance shown to me by members on the day was just amazing. Without the assistance and positive communication my day would not have been nearly as exciting. Also, so well organised by those in charge...thank you.
The wet track did stop me after my 5th race after I stepped her out twice, but nevertheless it was a sensational learning curve for me. Getting the lines right, feeling and understanding the various cambers, aiming for the correct Apex in each corner and "watching the mirrors" all took its toll and I slept very well dreaming of the next event at QR.
My best times were 1.14 in the dry and 1.21 in the wet. The car is very capable and much more capable than me, so there is still a lot of room for improvement. Before any more mods I will be concentrating on slowly improving my corners.
Looking for the photos taken on the day by the pro photographer...can anyone advise what website to look on?
Cheers
It was great to have you there jackmack, I could tell just by looking that you and Michael had a fantastic day and I was so impressed with your times as well!! I'm hoping to be at BP South for coffee Saturday morning, right now not 100% with minor surgery this afternoon and I HATE needles but so far i'm looking positive!!
I stopped on the way home for coffee and some KFC fries this afternoon, maybe I should have said 'hold the salt'!! It was a little awkward with the anesthetic not having worn off my lip
