Thanks guys I hadn't even thought of fixing the source of the problem!
The pipe was painted, but the paint burns off pretty much straight away.

It was probably painted with cheap normal paint
Get some of this White Knight 300g Hi Temperature Black Spray Paint
Not sure how hot it gets there but it's apparently heat resistance to 540°C
As for the a/c hose I'd extend that hose away so it isn't dripping on the pipe

The problem is ceramics in general have low thermal shock resistance, so it's far more likely the paint is cracking and falling off from the constant (cold) water dips.
Better paint and surface prep may help but not as much as removing the problem.

Thanks James, I have conflicting stuff on that Lakeside day but I might be at the following one.
I kept having clearance issues with the chunky (and excessively long) SE exhaust tip. I'm otherwise happy with the tone and volume, so the solution was a 2.5" mandrel bend and then some straight pipe. No need for fancy tips here:

I've been working on my Adaptronic install by measuring the thermistors and scrounging together as much info as I can to get a head start on a basemap.
Here are some more bits related to the install:
I have also measured both the thermistor and the resistor inside my oil temp gauge so I can share the sensor with the Adaptronic. I will have fuel pressure, oil pressure and oil temp going in (via an Innovate SSI-4) for both logging and also alerting if things are out of spec.

Is there any reason why you went the ID725 over the ID1000?
I've been told that the ID1000 can be tuned just as good as the ID725 and will allow headroom for future mods(E85).

I'm running the smaller ones just for a bit more control at idle, and for their linear flow at lower fuel pressures. I have fairly modest power goals so I can't see myself needing larger. If the E85 bug hits I'll have to replace a few components in the fuel system so I'd go for an aftermarket regulator and run more pressure, but I think that would be gearbox destroying territory.
The ID injectors are great, especially if you have an ECU that has them characterised properly (the Adaptronic does this).

I was trying to decide which ones to get for my SE about a month ago and ended up getting the ID1000.
Was told that the ID725 would be more linear but the ID1000 would also be fine. I'm not sure exactly what I'll end up doing to my car so I figured the ID1000 would be the last injectors I'll ever need to buy.
I'm looking forward to see how your ecu tune goes, you're pretty much at the same stage as me but with a built motor

Getting pretty close to putting the Adaptronic in now:
It's a plug and play unit but I'm using an extension harness to hook up the boost control solenoid and the 'Boost 1' input switch for different wastegate settings. This is overkill, but I had the harness sitting around anyway. If you're not using an extension like this and you don't want to make irreversible changes to your car you can easily pop out individual pins with a jewelers screwdriver then push in your own wire.
The device in the heat shrink on the left is a Bluetooth module to use the 'Adaptive Tuner' Android phone/tablet program. For laptop connectivity I will use the USB port, it's worth mentioning that you can power enough of the ECU via USB to allow a laptop connection and to change settings!

Hey Tim, that all looks great. Would love to come and look at all this, are you able to show this working as I've got a similar setup with Bluetooth etc but with an MS3 system installed.
Would be good to compare.

I'm using an Innovate MTX-L wideband controller, the controller is integrated into the gauge so I had to put it somewhere:
At least this keeps it out of sight but I can open the glovebox and easily see it if desired.
The mount was included with one of my other gauges, I just cut off the back of the mount to make it fit as the MTX-L is deeper.
