For helmets you can use snell approved motorcycle helmets or car helmets. If you are looking at car helmets (revolution race gear at spring wood has a reasonable range) try and get one that will take the posts for a hans device should you want one in the future
See you at Lakeside

First time - just run at your own pace, watch your mirrors and have fun!! If yoy get too fast for Group 4 or whatever, just move up one!! Try and go out in your group with cars faster than you in front, saves them having to attempt overtaking manouvres!!

See you there

I think I'll be happy in 4....towards the rear of the field...at least until I get used to the new feel...good advice

jackmack wrote:Will I, wont I, will I, wont I...that's been the question as this is Lakeside we are taking about, not QR. Anyway decided to try it out at Lakeside for the first time. Racing around arranging the necessary stuff and paying the fare.

Iv been thinking the exact same, I always said Id never race my daily driver at Lakeside but here we are Iv paid and registered lol.
Im more worried now as I was going to have new brakes. Got new radiator etc plus fluids done today with the brakes turned out all the rotors and pads were wrong. Luckily I got a refund but no new brakes now as they cant find the right parts for my nb :(
Also hope I don't trash my tyres I haven't had them that long.

best if you can email the compsec compsecmx5@miata.net.au

Is that email address the correct one? I had sent an email for my registration when I paid and I sent one a couple of days ago about a enquiry but haven't received any replies?

All good Rhys, your entry fee is recorded as being paid more than a week ago

I was at Lakeside today, didn't plan to but things happened that way when I saw Matt with his '69' NB on the trailer while we had coffee. Caught up with Nathan from Rockhampton who drove down in his 86 for his first ever attempt at track, he had a few lessons with Doug and during th second one was following an Integra down thru the 'Bus Stop' [I was watching and timing from the Armco adjacent] when the Integra just lost the rear, slammed the armco and Nathan was almost right behind him!! He managed to miss him safely, pulled onto the grass as the track went 'red' and Doug jumped out of the 86 to make sure all was OK

Great day, Car 53 was also circulating in the 64's and an immaculate little Austin Cooper S of Greg C that has been racing now for 50 years was doing tremendous lap times, a PB for Greg getting down into the 64's as well

Funny! awesome day and I didn't want to come home! I had to, I stuck the washing on at 6.15am before leaving for coffee with Kev05 and Magpie & son!!

Currently 8 days out and 39 paid up so far

We should still crack the 50 again which will be great!!

Remember, you CAN pay on the actual day, just flick an email to the Comp Sec at compsecmx5@miata.net.au but don't expect a reply, just so he knows numbers

If the track is anything like yesterday, it was fantastic!!

Thanks

Great stuff Danny!! Actually it's more than that now! I had a phone call this morning to see if a guy from the Sunny Coast can run his Civic, all good and I flicked Mark an email informing him of the guys lap times from last Saturday

Same price as driver 1.
Only discount applies to 'partners' who are included/listed in 'Family' Club membership.

What if both drivers are club members?

If you share a car you are going to get 1/2 as many laps. It's usually discounted for this reason is it not?
