Re: Mexie & Kev say hello
Changed over the gear lever gaiter for a red stitched one. Also fitted silver dash surround and HVAC panel cover and fitted new light bulbs to the HVAC while it was all apart. Nice "Roadster" gear lever surround for centre console.
Brightens up the interior nicely ...
I've also had enough of the electric aerial going up and down every time the head unit comes on, so found a switch that looks pretty original and wired the electric aerial cable through the switch. Can now de-activate or activate the aerial as I desire

You have a really nice sense of design, just enough to make it pop.

Re: Mexie & Kev say hello
Thanks bootz, appreciated.
Nice side effect of today's work, now it's dark outside, I went to check the HVAC lighting to see if the new bulbs had made the controls brighter at night. Not only were they a lot brighter, but the new panel has a nice red glow that matches the rest of my dash lighting perfectly ... big win!
Also changed over the polished MX5 scuff plates that were already fitted for some more subtle SE Brushed ones.
Thanks to all the parts from Boyracer, my NB's interior is really coming together. Cheers Lou

Re: Mexie & Kev say hello
Thanks, Kev, for your thread which I've just read from start to finish - entertaining and informative, even without the photos.
I've been skulking around this forum for some time without posting, feeling unqualified to do so as I don't yet have my MX-5. Your experiences with an NA that needed some TLC, and subsequent purchase of an NB, have been really useful for me. In particular, your comments about the differences in how they drive.
Like you, I'm in my 50's and a bit short on mechanical knowhow, but I'm looking forward to the challenge of finding a car I can work on and make my own. I've been saving and hope to buy something by the end of this year.
Thanks again for sharing your experiences, warts and all!

Thanks mate
I'd pretty much come to terms with just allowing this thread to fade in to the never never due to the loss of images
Ah well, posted these elsewhere, but while I'm here, a couple of new photos from yesterday's drive in Mexie ...
