You get put into groups based on time/experience and you go out for 5 lap sessions in group order. Being a full day you will get anything from 8 to 10 sessions depending the weather and how well behaved everyone is.

At the end of the day you will have had enough track time

If it's run anywhere as quickly as the last one at QR (and has no incidents...) It'd b a lot more than 10. There were 10 sessions in the half day at QR alone. Doug is really pushing people to get their warmup and cooldown laps done quickly at every track day now, it's saving a surprising amount of time.

That's 5 timed hot laps. You end up doing almost 7 with the warm up and cool down.

I have my CTP and will be paying on Friday :) Do I need to tell anyone when I have paid or just post in here?
Some maintenance to the car before the day and Ill be all set
Getting really excited now fingers crossed for a sunny day

Many people here running road tires when on track?

Its just sunk in that we will be doing 10+ track sessions. All the other track days Iv done have been 4 session (through track attack at QR) and I know what those tyres were like after the day. Mind you the cars I were using were FWD, taller and slightly heavier then the mx5.
So Im hoping the mx wont destroy the tyres as easily due to its rwd configuration and low center of gravity... I hope. I do plan on getting another set of wheels/tyres but I need for monies for this.

cheers

best if you can email the compsec compsecmx5@miata.net.au to let him know who and what you are.
It really helps speed up registration and organising groups for the day.

If you havent been to LS before, even let him know your best time at QR clubman(in this car), he might be able to use that to put you in the most suitable group.

Your road tyres should be fine, but of course depends on your driving sympathy towards them.
Being a full day, it is not as rushed as the half day. You may find you can even skip a session if you or your car get tired and want a break.

when paying, fill in the 'reference' either at the Bank ask the teller or online, I'm not sure there - simply reference 'you're surname-track day' is sufficient, if at the Bank ask for a receipt

Thanks to both Minx and Zero00. Ill put my surname/track day for the reference, Ill be paying via internet banking.
Ill also send an email to the one above to help things along, I havent done a track day in the mx yet but I can give my best time in other "similar" cars at QR.

Sounds good, didnt really think about skipping a session, might do that if the car is getting tired or the tyres are starting to wear. Should be ok though :)

cheers

Just in additon to MINX's post, even if you aren't paying until next week or later or on the day, please email Mark ASAP and at least let hi know you intend to be there - it's all about him having a good idea of the numbers coming and organising groups etc

Thanks MINX

Paid and emailed. Just gotta get my CTP extension sorted and I'll be ready to go. Praying for good weather for my first time at Lakeside.

Just back from Lakeside. Can confirm that the gravel trap on top of the carousel works, Doug had to drag me out  . Missed out on the sprints as the power steering pump failed with horrible noise, thought the engine was damaged but it is just the pump :x . So I will be chasing one now.
