Cap for 6ULs

Postby Blesif » Fri Jun 21, 2013 6:26 pm

This is probably a forlorn hope but does anyone have a chrome cap for a gen11 6UL wheel they are willing to sell? I lost one and can't get a replacement. Emilio has been no help and the MX5 Centre no longer has them. I'm in Sydney.

I assume you have tried to buy one from them direct - have you tried other 949 dealers, Goodwin racing?

The problem is postage from the US. The min package size is around $60 US postage! A cap is worth $5. Emilio from 949 Racing originally agreed to send me a set of 4 for $20 plus $19.95 postage. I agreed to that but he then changed his mind. Quite a pain really. Same issue with Goodwin. No one else has them. Thanks for replying. Perhaps there is a cap available locally that will fit these wheels. This might be the only answer.

the 949 valves and caps are just standardish run on the mill and have 949 lazer edged into the cap. i brought a set of blue onodized valves/caps of ebay (lots of colours available), and they were the same as the 949 racing ones. heaps of them on ebay, just have a look at the pics in the listing to confirm they are the same.

No suitable wheel caps on eBay that I can see. Valve caps yes, wheel caps, no.

lol i thought you meant valve caps, not wheel centres.

put up a WTB thread. i'm sure there are heaps of 6UL owners that dont use them as they are track only cars. I know when i had 6ULs, the centres never got used once.

When the wheels get hot the caps have a habit of falling off.

Mazmad is spot on. Wheels got hot, cap fell out. Totally my fault for leaving them on at Wakefield. I only really want one (chrome) but would happily consider other options. Will be at SMSP on July 6. I have retired the 6ULs from sprints, they are a road wheel now so hoping to get a cap to make it all look uniform.
