Relays look aftermarket. Will try and get out to the shed to take a look at the plug.

Re: NA8 engine bay question
Here is a photo of my stock NA8 (no power steer). Sorry for the low lighting - my apartment garage is pretty dingy.
You're right; your three relays are definitely new additions. I have two relays which plug directly into the large orange plug. The same end of the plug is also wired to the driver side thermo fan and a sensor on a metal line (air con/cooling?) under the intake manifold. The opposite end of the orange plug connects below to a main wiring loom which also runs to the driver side headlight and indicator. Sorry I'm no auto electrician, but I hope this helps a little.

Thanks so much for those details, I will investigate where my wires run to tonight.

Re: NA8 engine bay question
These look like like A/C and fan relays on my NB.

Re: NA8 engine bay question
Em, I don't have those three relays in my '93 NA8.
Smacca, I did know what those two relays were (could be what Lokiel says), but mine doesn't have them, then again mine doesn't have AC.

Ah, mine does have air con so that's probably it then. Like Lokiel said, one for the air con, the other for the fans.

Re: NA8 engine bay question
Big plug is for headlights/retractor motors, I'd say they have rewired the headlights and added the relays.
NC Roadie, NC Racey, ND Racey….and a 30AE
