Re: MALIBU GOLD REGISTER
Mmm....dunno if this is original Malibu Gold. Looks like engine bay / underbody has been sprayed blue (?!) at some stage. Also, note that it's got an aftermarket body kit, inc spoiler, so someone might have got the body kit & yellow spray done at the same time. Also, the paint looks reasonably fresh for a 24 year old car. Who's in NSW who can go and take a looksy and provide some further info?

Ah, was looking for an engine bay pic! Should have scrolled!
Yeah, not originally yellow, but still a happy looking exterior colour.
QLD blue mod plate possibly.

Hey guys!
I'm another Malibu Gold owner, from Adelaide. Bought my little beast off an old lady back in late January. She was the second owner, the first being another little old lady from down Port Adelaide way.
The car is in relatively good condition given the age, although paint is average in some areas, come up alright after a good polish. Car has 224000km's on the clock, all original, unfortunately no service books though.
Since i've owned the car ive added some 15" superlites, black with polished lip, replica garage vary front lip, nice leather gear boot to replace the dry and shrivelled up stock boot.
Future plans are endless, but not going overboard. I'm interested in using it as a track car, but still want it to cruise the hills on a weekend
Pics when i find out how to attach them!

Welcome Gold 92. I checked out that car out of interest when I was in Adelaide in January..You got an absolute bargain! Very original car, new roof, and the paint was still pretty good for a 21 year old car, not much would be needed at all.And it still had the Malibu stripes..how rare is that!.

Hey there, I think I saw you driving through Uraidla a couple of weekends ago, I was at the general store when you drove past, nice looking car if it indeed was yours. Congrats on the purchase!

I reckon i got a great deal. Lady was asking $5500, she was a nice and genuine person sodidnt want to knock her down to much but offered her $5200 and i had a deal!
Paint isn't too bad, considering the age. I wouldn't mind a respray but as you said those stripes are rare! I haven't seen another on here with the stripes?

Wow its good to see we are getting a few on here now.
Gold 92 if yours still has the original stickers I would like to get some close up pics as I would like to get mine re sprayed complete the stickers on one day. I will have to get them made as I doubt Mazda would have any kicking around.

Funny you say that, coz I'm in the same predicament at the moment. Want a reps ray sometime in the near future but I want to keep the stickers for originality purposes.
More than happy to organise a catch up one day to get pics, I'll be doing the same thing!

Re: MALIBU GOLD REGISTER
Do I sense a group buy coming on?
Seriously, if we have any graphics handy people who can whip up something in AutoCAD or even just a decent JPG image, I'm sure we can get a sticker manufacturer to quote us up something. I had a custom image applied to a *cough* Camira once, and even with my own custom image (about 10cm square) only cost about $20 delivered.
Who knows someone with experience in this area? I'd be keen on getting a set...

Absolutely!
And if we put the time/money into it we could be picky and wait till someone makes one that's a perfect replica.
I'm keen!
