Recommendations for 'low-profile' trolley jack?

Clearly you didn't read the recall warning then.

The recall has nothing to do with the product failing. The 'warning sticker' on the product does not meet Aus safety standards. Guessing they forgot some text that said, 'Do not climb under vehicle while jack is lifting car.' Or something similar on the label.

I bought a costco, as did a mate, a year ago.Perfectly good jacks, nice and light, though if your car is lowered(as is my red na6),i have to drive the car up onto 4 bits of 1" thick timber offcuts to get it under the sill lips...no hardship.

Repco have jacks on sale. Not low ones, min 140mm.

$39 for the littlie,

No good for lowered mexers but pretty cheap otherwise. Also have the swivel head attachment for the handle which is optimal for tight spots.

Ok plug to follow:

I bought one of these from ebay late last year, used it for one 2 day race weekend early Dec. Worked great! Light, rubber platform, two piece handle. All good.

Took it down to WP a few weeks back for a practice day, went to raise the car...pfffftt. No good.

Got through the day without it. Emailed the seller, Pinnacle Wholesalers (with my ebay invoice) and asked for ideas as to what might be up, how to fix it. Expecting usual ebay all no-care, no-responsiblity, but el-cheapo.

They responded a few days later (after I had actually worked how to purge the air and got it working...) to say 'we will send a new one'. Figured, yeah, right!

Jack turned up today.

SO: BIG PLUG FOR THESE GUYS! Loving my (purged) jack again and now have a backup for it too!

a big plug for a jack / sellers that throws the towel in after almost no use- its not how I would react. Any local business - SCA Bursons etc etc would replace it in a blink. I have a small one tonne or so floor trolley jack which is now about 40 years old and still going strong.
