nb8b cup holder lid is loose

Postby speed freak » Fri Jun 07, 2013 5:56 pm

Hey guys, Iv got a 01 nb8b mx5. The second cup holder behind the gearstick has a loose lid. The spring inside has come off so now it wont stay shut as when I change gears my elbow opens it which is very annoying. My problem is though I cant figure out where that little spring should clip back in so it works normally.

Any help or suggestions?

Cheers

Wow I fixed mine ages ago, think I put a washer over the end and a screw in that hole so the spring couldn't flex sideways.

Nice to see someone more helpful that me has done a write up.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Yea its a great write up.

Anyone know what a steel bladed putty knife is? Or anybody have any tips for removing the window switches?

I tried a stanely knife but it was bendin too much and would have snapped the blade, screw driver too thick and most likely scratch the plastic trim.

Rhys.
