So there is no other ecu option besides an ecu reflash with the nc's to date?

There are other options, like the Xede, and any full standalone wire in ecu but in Victoria it HAS to be the stock ecu to be legal, so thats the goal.

Ahh ok, was wondering why not just go standalone. Makes sense now.

Factory ECU is doing a great job on supercharged and high power turbo setups.
Heck...they're even getting them through emissions testing!
There is no need for the additional expense of an aftermarket unit

Though if you want one I can sell you my Xede.

Not doubting the reflash capabilities just seeing what other options there were. I know prior to tdr sorting all the tuning woes out there were a lot of dodgy reflash tunes destroying engines was curious why no one went standalone during the process

People scared of standalones in general, the only real problem with reflashes is that you need to have the EXACT same setup as th enext guy if you want the reflash to work, so its hard to develop a drivetrain package over time.

A few went standalone but this was not a great solution as NC ECUs control nearly every function of the car
Others used standalone to only control fuel and ignition and have had reasonable success.
Piggybacks were tried and BEGI are still using IIRC, the Xede on their big power turbo setups.
Factory ECUs can now be tuned almost live on the dyno using the ECUTek cables and software. Daniel Deckers is doing that now.
Moto East and TDR are tuning for each individual car using ECUTek and logs.
Costs vary according to the amount of support you want but TDR offers lifetime retunes.
With Moto East, Mike gives you the option of a 'normal' tune like everyone else or a personal one suited to your vehicle.

I have a TDR tune in my car and Jay (TDR) is always asking for another log so he can make another adjustment.

Yep it all seems very good now.
I've not heard of an engine drama since the old Sniper tune days though Dynotronics had a glitch or two on the changeover

ECUTek offers far more information and settings
Have a chat with Daniel or Chris about the options available here.

The HKS F-Con IS (piggyback) works perfectly and I'm yet to find a re-flash to match its performance (when comparing hour for hour of charged tuning time). The biggest issue is the very limited suppliers and tuners of this product.

Cheers,
Danny

For any drivers thinking about forced inducting a NC, I am currently selling my supercharged NC for travel. Everything has been done for you to enjoy! It would be a hell of a lot cheaper and easier. All the work has been done professionally and a lot of guys on the forum can vouch for my car. The power is absolutely fantastic and it has a great balance of power and handling.

It is currently $28,500 and I am negotiable on the price as I'd like it moved sooner rather than later.
