So I was out on a Sunday arvo drive. Stopped the car for no more than a minute. Then dead. Lots of cranking power but no spark.
Anyone have any ideas where to start? I've checked connections and fuses all seem fine...
It's an nb8b
Cheers

Re: Broke down... no spark?
Thanks for the tip.
I'll check over these this afternoon.
I'm thinking maybe the egi because once the engine was cold I still had no spark.
Cheers

Re: Broke down... no spark?
Not NB, but my NA had a similar issue on way back from a holiday a few months ago. Always starts extremely easily, but this time just cranked, no spark. Had it taken home on back of a truck. Long story short, was a very slight loose connection on the plug in the ignition loom under the steering column ...

Yeah, the NA6 does seem to suffer from those sorts of issues, probably due to age & higher kms wearing & loosening things.

You were on the money clubman.
I made up a bridge this arvo for the egi and it is working now. I tested the current and its drawing 15a. The relay is rated to 20a.
I'll buy a spare this time me thinks

Re: Broke down... no spark?
Good to hear you identified a problem. Yeah, a spare one of these is useful - expensive new, but recyclers or ebay have them as that type were used on some other vehicles. If you haven't already, just search on the four alpha-numeric code on the relay.
