Fix surface fade carbon fibre ducktail spoiler

Hi All, I have a faded No Pro carbon fibre rear ducktail spoiler. It has white spots all over it. Can anyone recommend a repairer around the Parramatta area and how much this may cost? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thats totally a vanity spoiler.

The thread title lead me to believe the thread was about a cracked carbon wing.

maybe change it to include surface finish.

From what I understand that is basically the surface finish failing work UV damage and allowing moisture in. Probably not much you can do about it.

talk to Guy_Coles. he has the same problem with his carbon side skirts.

Wax it and then clear coat.

I have tried waxing it but the spots will not come out. Researched that a cut, polish, and clearcoat may be the solution. I have asked the Touch Up Guys to do this. Hope they can do a great job. Unfortunately, can only be done next weekend.

Without seeing it up close it sounds like spotting or clouding in the gel coat. That's rare for NoPro stuff as it's normally excellent quality but I have the same issue with a Burnout side skirt but far more excessive. Depending on how deep it is, you might sand it back and have it sprayed with a UV resistant clear coat. Mine are past that and I've been forced to have a layer of CF applied over the top and then have multiple layers of clear on top of that.

Just by having a look at that pic you attached, it looks like the clear coat has gone bad.

Try this out as I know many of the Evo guys have had success restoring their carbon spoilers
