In relation to passing I was not aware that the rules had changed-the rule was passing was allowed in specific areas. Has this changes to passing allowed anywhere with care?-if so not covered in the briefing.
Chiil guys-its supposed to be fun

It is the end of the pit wall
It is perpendicular sticking out from the wall - not along the wall like the sponsorship adverts.
Once you know where it is you will find it easy next time.

(ninja edit- just noticed my speedo in shot - lucky i was behaving  )

Well it is no wonder I didn't see it then. I agree making sure it is covered in the briefing would help newbies like me, and remind the regulars to also behave and not ride up anyone's arse until well after that point. No point trying to pass someone on turn 2 first time out yeah?

As per my post in the pit lane speed limit topic Doug mentioned at least twice in the briefing the extent and start stop points for the pit lane speed limit.

As for trying to pass people in turn 2, well if your dawdling I'm sure most want to get on with their run and try to get passed in a safe place.

For everyone running non slick tyres, head out and and drive quickly, at about 80% and your tyres will be at temp by the time you get to the brake area for turn three at QR, there is really no need to do F1 tyre warm up laps.

Whilst I know I behaved myself leaving pit lane I did notice that the 'speed check' digital display that shows you current speed has been removed, not sure when but no longer there - it would tell your actual speed on exit - level with that to me was fine then to step on the gas!!

I must say I'm looking ahead and not to the left on a concrete barrier for any sign/s like the one that MINX has circled

By that definition, I guess my car is NAM 18 too. It hasn't raced since 2010, is road registered and is always dríven to and from the circuit. Not that it matters. We are out there trying to build dad's confidence in the car and slowly improve his times.

Yep, if you are dawdling along and hold me up through turn 2 I will try to pass on driver's right on the short straight to turn 3 on the out lap so I can get good run. With not much straight line poke I make all my time through the corners and find it incredibly frustrating when I am trying to carry as much speed as possible to get my lap times.

...or, if you don't wanna be so concerning to potential green drivers, you could just hang back out of the pit lane, give plenty of space, and you won't need to... I guess do whatever you feel causes less issues and is safer for a track sprint day. :p

If I was half as good as your dad i'd be happy!! Tremendous lap times considering how old you said he was! Maybe we DO get faster with age!!
