Nb brake pads

Now, this is a story all about how
My pad choice got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became confused about wear

In various other websites the question was raised
On the forums where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, reclining back far
And all reading up on the options for my car
When a couple of guys, they could be misunderstood
Started making claims about the EBC greens
I read a few little post by some american lads
They said "they bite no harder than stock miata pads"

So I went for a jumped in the car
I went down and saw mx5 centre, not very far
They said they had project mu and if anything I could say that this pad was rare
But I though nah forget it ill ask the question here!

Ebc greens are expensive crap. I just replaced a set with QFM performance pads and I am impressed by them already! The EBC greens were hard noisy, dusty and didn't bite until very warm. I would get In contact with the guys at brakes direct. They were super friendly and helpful. Set of front QFM pads cost $79 plus postage.

I like my greens to be honest. I got them for hardly anything off ebay UK. They worked out half the price of any other pad including shipping.

Would the heat up issue be an issue on track as id expect to need to heat these for street?

I have placed an order with a local trusted shop.

Will let you know how they go. Reviews seem to be 50/50.

Greens are what Jace and I run. They don't need much heat in them to be honest. normal driving temps on the street and they work as good as any other street pad, when you start getting aggressive on the brakes they get a lot better though. Good bang for buck as you can get them heaps cheaper than Bendix pads etc

I've got ebc yellows and can highly recommend these pads. Great grip from cold with zero squeal. Not sure how the hold up on the track, coz the car is still a work in progress. Very easy to modulate as well. Comparing price n performance, would rate these better than the ferodo ds2500 on my other car. Only downside is they dust more than stock, but I don't mind it coz I wash the car every week n it doesn't chew on the rotors.

Not too concerned about dust luckily.

Also how important is it to match or upgrade rear pads.

The plan is to go greens on the front and oem on rear.

I think you should be right. It's less important if you've got ABS, which I assume you have. Problems come when you have wildly mismatched pads and no ABS, e.g. race pads front which only work hot and OEM pads rear which grab well cold so that the whole balance of braking changes constantly.
