So who is going this Sunday?
The MX5 Club of Qld will have a contingent and dedicated Club parking area.
Always a terrific array of car porn to behold.
Will report back here with pics.

What's the go with Sun? Can you just rock up, or did I have to commit weeks out to go? And if I bring my family? Wife, 2 kids etc?

The event is well and truly open to the public, probably even kids
However, the CLUB event has allocated parking within the precinct and is participating in the Club presentation/representation of our vehicles. So unless the email info is flexible, this was the deadline
THE CLOSING DATE FOR REGISTRATION IS TUESDAY, 30 APRIL 2013
Funds must be received into the MX-5 Club account by COB on 30 April 2013.
N.B. NO REFUNDS AFTER THE CLOSING DATE

Too late to display your car, but you can roll up and spectate.

Nah that's not really the case. It might be too late to have an allocated spot with the other MX5's, but you will be able to just rock up and display the car somewhere. Well that's what I did two years ago anyhow. I'll be there Saturday driving a BMW M Coupe and on Sunday in the Speedster.

Re: MacLeans At Lakeside - 19 May 2013
Ian, Ross, Steve, Kelvin, Melinda, Brian and I rocked up to Lakeside this afternoon to put the marquee up for tomorrow, we didn't put the roof on due to strong winds there this afternoon and that can be done in the morning. We have a GREAT spot between Sweden and USA [you will learn about that tomorrow] near the fence where you would stand infield watching cars come down under the footbridge, to me absolute TOP SPOT!!
Thanks for Melinda's 'Project Management' getting the framework up, we almost had a copy of the Storey Bridge until she stepped in!! -Just kiddin'!!
Talking to one of the organisers they are expecting possibly over 1,000 cars on display tomorrow!! I think we have 26-27 so should be able to give a good display for the public with that
See you there!

We'll have to look at putting in a regularity team next year. Can't have the BMW club taking out first place again.

Re: MacLeans At Lakeside - 19 May 2013
Well done to everyone that attended 'Macleans Bridge at Lakeside' today. To have 30 cars on display looked fantastic! Congratulations to Ian from the Sunshine Coast Chapter for his getting everything and everyone organised and pinned down to a 7.30am departure from IGA Petrie for the short run to Lakeside Park!
Some incredible cars on display but my favourite? It had to be the 1958 Buick Deville found in a paddock in Illinios back in 2000, it looked like it just came off the showroom floor
Happy laps was a nightmare!! First time on the track with the NA and by chance after the 'mess' was sorted out I was lucky enough to be first out behind the chase car and medic car - then some got quite serious and I called it a day
Thanks to all for the support and now packed and ready to go for Queensland Raceway tomorrow!!
