Turbo NA's are not on the CAMS Production Sports Car eligibility list. If you wish to add them to this list contact CAMS and complete all the relevant documentation and submit it them. If they are satisfied it will be added to the list and there will be no issues. Until that time they are not eligible to run.

Please feel free to start and new thread and offer your opinions on why they should or should not be included.

If BBR have been doing this for Mazda since 1990 then they've technically done a production na6 turbo mx5 too!

There's only a handful listed on Wakeifields site but speaking to Craig on Thursday(?) he said they had 13 entries.

GTR's don't make good tow cars, can't fit all the race gear in the boot

Those of us involved in establishing Modern Sports Cars are very excited about the response we have received.

So far for this event we have 7 drivers from Qld, 3 from Vic and the rest from NSW and the ACT. 8)
At least 5 of the entrants have never done any sort of one hour style race and at least one entrant has never done a race before and is combining with his Dad to debut - great stuff!!

This was the whole idea of MSC - to introduce an alternative for people wanting to get started in racing and provide a cost effective, fun race weekend.

When is the first QLD event, I see there is plenty of QLD cars?
Talks are well underway for a full series in 2014 with 8 events at 3 tracks in 3 States!! We are also looking to the posibility of a second event this year down South and more details will follow soon.

We're all excited to announce KUMHO as the naming rights sponsor of this inaugural MSC event.

The great team at Peak Race Tyres will be at the track with their usual support along with supply and fitting services.

For anyone needing tyres contact David at peakracetyres@gmail.com

Mention you're doing Modern Sports Cars for some great deals they have on offer!!

They also offer all sorts of discounts for MX5 Club members and those doing any motorsport events.

We look forward to a long and sucessful association with Kumho Motorsport Tyres and Peak Race Tyres.

I would have to say I've never been to a meeting where all the competitors were so happy and friendly as at The first Modern Sports car races...everyone really looked like they enjoyed it, a few of the things I would say made the weekend...
-great organization by both the Modern sports car guys and by Wakefield park
-very reasonable entry fee.
-great field of cars with no GT crazies or whacky Lotus weapons.
-great format...probably the only thing I would change is to have a few sprint races.

Anthony and I had a bit of a mixed weekend, we qualified in the top 10 which was great, Anthony did and excellent job to get us up to P.1 outright before the first pit stop and P.3 after we stopped, unfortunately I was a dummy and took off too early and broke the speed limit, drive through saw us finish 8th I think.

Race 2 ended up not so good, after 20 min. the throttle shaft broke and I got to watch the rest of the race from the infield...(New Skunk 2 Billet throttle body has been ordered from 949 racing)

Please don't make us wait till next year for the the next one.

This is a bit of fun on the last lap just after I passed Chris in the 86...you only need to watch about the first 30 seconds.
