Sailor, didn't see you race on Sunday?

I was running around at the back of group 4 on normal road tyres.
Only did 3 runs and starting to get the car sorted on those tyres then, to get a few brownie points, took Susan to lunch.

Haha very smart!

Well times are out and i'm happy with a 1:16.87, it's also a great feeling when you know you can improve and have fun at the same time!

Thanks to Tiit Saul for grabbing a few pics of my car out on the track!

Wasn't much fun knowing that plenty of mx5s where having fun at a track day in which I (and my sports car) couldn't make, so i thought i had to do something MX5 related to try and quench the motorsport thirst. I'd been desperate to change my front OEM pads since the last track day as they were squelling something terrific but simply hadn't had a moment spare to even jack the car up. Anyway i had another "stuff it" moment and decided to change the pads. So i did my first brake pad change. All went to plan, took about an hour, no surprises, as described on the net. I put in Hawk HPS, not the yellows, so ill review them later. I did the bedding procedure too, though it was a bit wet out tonight so i'm not sure how that might affect the bed quality. I can say that i believe i probably did make a newbie mistake in that i don't think ill ever change between pads for street and track. Anyway no squell now and im looking forward to no longer compensating my driving for worn brake pads!

70,000km Service

Just did the 70k service yesterday before wakefield park tomorrow.
- Penrite 5w40 full synthetic motor oil
- ryco oil filter
- motul brake lines flush
- changed over OEM rear pads (15% left) to EBC red stuffs.

I always notice a significant reduction in the amount of vibration in the gear stick after a service :)

Car is currently filthy, been too busy to clean it, and sadly also too busy to make it to eastern creek :( Hopefully more eastern creek days next year!
