Looking forward to seeing how much boost/torque this thing makes down low

Re: NitroDann's Long Awaited Garage Thread
This unfortunately has a stock bottom end still and a 14psi actuator so it will be wastegate wired open for a little while I think

Re: NitroDann's Long Awaited Garage Thread
Coming together, got some time to do a little this morning before I had to go.
Muffler tucked RIGHT up and nicely centered. Note that this is still only tacked so the welds (mostly the heat colouration around them) look patchy, thats why.

Not 110% happy with the tip so Im redoing from the muffler outlet back.
I do like how you can JUST see the muffler if you kneel, it looks very OEM.

Whats this we have here? SE owners will recognise this manifold and heatshield?

BOO

Off to the race ceramic coating shop tomorrow.

Your best work yet man.
Whack some nut and bolts through those spare holes and it's be flawless!

For the uneducated in SE components (like me) can you outline what is different between this and the standard/stock header? Perhaps a photo with them side by side or at least a similar pic - which might help illustrate the benefits gained here.

The MSM/SE uses a small IHI turbo (vs the better SP's GT2560). Here's the SE manifold:

Top one is BEGI or FM Log Manifold, bottom one is the SE/MSM manifold

Re: NitroDann's Long Awaited Garage Thread
The stock manifold has a few flaws.
If you look above the very top pic isn't the Se manifold but the others are.
You can see how cylinder 1 2 and 3 a share a runner so by the time it hits the collector you have 3/4 of the engines exhaust fighting to get out one small runner full of casting marks and then go head on into the cylinder 4s exhaust gas and with nowhere to go turn 90* and head out the turbo flange.
It's a log manifold in the simplest form and if it had a T28 flange and the flange was positioned correctly many would go to a T25 or 28 as a cheap upgrade that spools better and makes far more torque through the mid all the way to 8000rpm.
However it doesn't have the T28 flange nor is that flange positioned right, so the manifold I made has individual runners that turn together to form a collector rather than the runners aiming directly at each other an pressure alone pushing them out the collector instead of into each other.
Oh and unlike the Se manifold this one has the right flange for and is positioned to fit a 440hp Borger Warner EFR

Re: NitroDann's Long Awaited Garage Thread
So when does the kit go into production?

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
