A volunteer to Host a Tech Day in Melb?

I don't know what they're called here in Australia, but in the UK a Tech Day is when you all go to a mate's to work on yours and each other's cars. I have a few things I'd like to do to my car but don't have either the technical know-how or confidence to attempt on my own. What I most certainly do not have is the facilities.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like so help or guidance to do a few little jobs, and I'm hoping some generous soul will allow us to use their place to congregate and do the little jobs we want to get done. Please reply if you're up for this and how many MX5s your place can accomodate. Or, if you're interested in attending, give a shout out (along with what you'd like to do to your 5).

I've hosted a couple in the UK before I emigrated and they were good fun! I organised a bbq to feed the troops.

Hey guys we at the MAZDA CAR CLUB DO TECH DAYS, I'd be happy to host one if you guys wanted to come along.... I'm not on hear too much so please pm me if you want to set one up.

Also, if anyone is in Melbourne Friday night (17/5/13) & would like to go for a cruise, the Mazda car club is holding a treasure hunt. The meet point is @ 7pm from 416 Footscray road west Melbourne. .. would definitely like to participate in a Tech Day, since I'm pretty much unskilled except maybe with Microsoft Office.. I could volunteer some grub and drinks. Envious of the guys up in NSW and Qld.

I've had a reply from SPRX3. He's holding a Tech Day on Sunday 2nd June in Melton.

So that he knows how many to expect, he asks that anyone who would like to come please register their interest here.

Don't forget you'll need to bring your own tools.

Also, the night before, the Mazda Club are having a meet-up and gokart night around chadstone/dandenong. If any of the gang would be interested in that let me know so we can RSVP.

1. Time
2. Any common theme for the Tech Day (e.g. detailing, general mechanical etc so we know what to expect)
3. Etc*

* - haven't attended one before so just throwing up some points, perhaps who will bring the grub/drinks perhaps the unskilled bunch, any info or numbers from the Club side on who will be attending and/or parts that we could bring for the techies to help up in fixing/bolting on

1. Starting from 10:30am
2. The club will be doing 2 things, 1st will be scruitineeing all club permit cars in the club, 2nd thing will be maintenance on the 2 club cars and maybe putting a gearbox in one of them, but if anyone wants help with somthing let us know & we can prep for it, we can pretty much handle any kind of work as long as they arnt milking it ;)
3. We will be having a bbq so if you let me know the numbers & if there are any alergies or dislikes we can cater for it once we work out the costings we will let you know but im guessing around $5 -$10 each at the most if that suits?
4. ive just sent out the sms for the tech day so should be getting an attendies list soon, as for parts, what are you thinking? we normally help out with cars that need help & the club cars
