The 2002 Titanium was not a NB8C but still an 8B. The 8C started in November 2002. The first limited release in this model was the Classic, one of which I owned. :D It did have VVT, as all naturally aspirated NB8B/C's did.

Regarding the turbo's this was more to do with garrett changing their model designation and is essentially the same turbo. And we still have an orginal BOV on our road SP

First 8Cs were built in September and complied at least in October, possibly earlier.

Just remembered there were some axle differences that were uncovered a couple of years ago:

Spline count (Inner) = 28 male

Halfshaft = d24mm
Inner CV joint hashed area (in between the splines and the seal flange) = d30mm
Inner CV joint spline area = d30mm

Standard 1.8 carrier/housing = SE carrier/housing.
Standard 1.8 axle seals = SE axle seals.

Hope that help you guys out.

Cheers,

Sel

Just measured the standard NB8B axles

Halfshaft = d24.4mm

Spline count (Inner) = 26 male

Inner CV joint hashed area (in between the splines and the seal flange) = d28mm
Inner CV joint spline area = d27mm

Seal surface = d35mm

Fuel consumption for both models is too low.

0-100 for stock SE is bullshit, 0-100 for stock SP is also bullshit.

Stock SP on 5 pound on a gt2560r can do under 6sec.

Obviously power output figures would vary with 5/7 psi.

the 2560r is still available new, replaced versions were not all the "disco" potato as mentioned.

SE radio has MP3, SP doesn't

SE has the body kit.

SE is a better base, especially once you build the block and put the B/W turbo on.

SP has VVT head, SE doesn't.

Steampunk mine is the 28 ( Whatever that means :? )

Hayden if you go to my original post ( not the shortened version that Steam punk quoted ) you will note that i said some SP's not all SP's

Mrs B i only wanted to give Okibi the info that mazda changed the part number on their invoices and to also let possible new owners know of an approved replacement part.

I didn't know it either.

VVT and 25mm half shafts are already on the list.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

My Sunlight Silver SE has black leather seats with red leather inserts.
Previous owner told me it came like that new from the dealer. I've never seen another SE with the red leather inserts so may have been installed at dealer.

A break down of original sales numbers across the country.... :MOCHA_LES:

With Mazda having a total of 130 dealers nationwide, not all dealers will get an MX-5 SP.

Most will be sold in Sydney and Melbourne but there will be some available in other States, with 45 heading to NSW; 33 to Victoria; 10 for Queensland; four for South Australia and eight for Western Australia.

Interesting info Tezza - allows some insight into the migration patterns of the SP.
