Hey guys,
im going through and replacing all seals and gaskets before i put the old engine (short nose na6) into the new car and with great fear i pulled of the timing gear to find the keyway perfect , not a single sign of the dreaded keyway wear but im just curious should i go ahead and do the loctite fix just to be on the safe side or would it be better to just leave everything as is and put it all back together?

Re: Short nose loctite fix
If it's all good then all you need to do is use normal loktite 243 or 262 "threadlocker" on the main bolt and loktite 609 "shaft fit" (also called cylindrical bonding retaining compound) on the key, nose and inner pulley faces. The 609 is not a repair compound and it's not strictly necessary either, but it's good insurance.

It's worth getting a new bolt too.
