Re: Ms tuning assistance
Have tried changing the req fuel to that already after the change is made the car doesn't start at all.
Spark plugs were flooded, so I gave them a clean and there fine now.

Re: Ms tuning assistance
Does it spark? Have you tested to confirm? If your are 100% sure spark is working, then you'll need to get a timing light to confirm that CAS is correctly timed along with the configurations Trigger Angle/Offset deg... I think in the tune it is set to 4 deg, but that might be wrong depending on the angle of your CAS etc. It won't start if that's way off.
Also, when you say it "won't start" I'm assuming it is turning over, and there is not even a sign of ignition or any spark lighting the fuel.... which tends to suggest either no spark or spark is so out of timing that it can't combust.
Another trick I've found works is to have someone turn the key, and with the CAS bolt loose, turn it slowly until it catches, and then you can hold it in a rough position whilst the engine kicks over, starts, idles and then hopefully stays running - when so, you can then use timing light to confirm timing and adjust.
As always, come back with lots of details and information so that we can review and provide advice.

Re: Ms tuning assistance
It wouldnt start without req fuel at least 12.
Im sure the wideband needs calibrating also, unfortunately it is very very difficult to get to so we couldnt.
Something is wrong, like... it still doesnt have the 850cc injectors in or they arent 850 or something.
Im not used to 1.8Ls but do they usually run 2 squirts/cycle?
I got it to start and run a little but it wanted to run on 3ish cylinders and only revved cleanly occassionally.
Somethign basic is wrong id say.
I said move the WB02 bung so it can be calibrated and reload the base map and go from there, unfortunately there wasnt much else I could do with the time I had.

If the reqfuel is 12 then they are not 850 cc injectors.
Can you get a log?
Is the harness stock and or normal?

Re: Ms tuning assistance
I live in newcastle and he lives in western sydney, I had an hour spare to help him so I cannot do anything now.
It was set to 2 pulses per cycle and needed a req fuel for stock injectors to run, and even then it needed huge fuel numbers to move under its own power.

Re: Ms tuning assistance
Na8 ran seq injection (one squirt) from the factory. Most 1.8 engine swaps I have seen retain the na6 control gear and hence run 2 squirts.

Re: Ms tuning assistance
it's an NB.
maybe it was an na8 map and that would explain a Lot.

Re: Ms tuning assistance
Slightly off topic but here is how to calibrate a wideband sensor in free air when you can't reach it:
1. Remove No1 spark plug
2. Remove oil filler cap
3. Look down oil filler hole and turn engine until exhaust valves on No 1 cylinder are open
4. Hold vacuum cleaner hose vaguely near exhaust pipe tip
5. Suck fresh air through No1 plug hole and on through whole system for 5 minutes
You now have clean air around the sensor.
(Alternate method is to shove air compressor jet at about 10psi down No1 plughole and blow instead.)

Re: Ms tuning assistance
I'm having trouble keeping up with what's in this engine... If it has 850cc injectors than the reqfuel must be set to 3.6!
If it was set to 12 then it would be way, way too rich, OR the injectors aren't 850cc.
Also, the number of squirts is irrelevant. MS2 will either halve or double the squirts and it really has no impact on sequential injection, which this engine is.

Oh, and it should be set to 2 squirts for fully sequential injection.

Re: Ms tuning assistance
Good idea magna!
grant I'm not concerned about whether the ms will auto halve the squirts I'm concerned that it's the right base map and that everything else was right.

Re: Ms tuning assistance
Thanks for your help yesterday Dan.
Injectors are defiantly 850cc I will post up the flow sheet tonight that came with them, at 3.6 it definitely seems like it isn't getting enough fuel. Do the open/dead times need to be changed since they are low independent injectors ?

Re: Ms tuning assistance
OMG lol.
Im pretty sure MS2 cannot run low impedence injectors at all.

Surely that cannot be the case... I have seen people running them on Ms.

with resistors wired nine to increase the impedance.
