This morning I replaced the rubber grommets on my brake master cylinder reservoir. They were leaking brake fluid. Very cheap from Miatamecca in the States, but a bitch to put in. Firstly there is a screw you have to remove that you cant get a screwdriver to. I eventually got it with a flexible screwdriver. Getting it back in is a whole new problem. To get the reservoir off, you have to pull fairly hard but it comes eventually. And here's a trap for new players.....directly below the master cylinder is a bottomless hole, about 20mm round, into the chassis rail I think? If you drop anything it goes straight down there never to be seen again. My chassis rail is now home to one brand new grommet & a phillips head bit. So if you do this job, BLOCK THAT HOLE FIRST.

Then I added some STICKER-WATTS,

Fixed my NB's console...

The hinge stands out in the photos, but it all actually looks virtually original in real life. Quite easy to do and very happy with the result. Stronger than original :wink:

Kev, I've the same problem with my console. Perhaps it's time to do it before the other factory hinge snaps as well. :lol:

Had the hinge, black paint and "original" screws from my NA in my shed, so a somewhat cheaper option over buying a new lid that would probably snap again, or upgrading to an 8B console, which also have their problems ....

Main part is cutting the recess very carefully as that is seen from passenger seat. Could dremel it, but stanley knife cuts it very easily. Looks a little rough on the edge in the photo, but it actually looks good in the car.
