Yeah, ok. No perfect solution for sure. Makes sense, as long as it isn't weighted too much towards improvement as that brings another dynamic into the mix. At the end of the day it is hard to take the impact of dollars out of the equation.

Interesting thread. I thing I take from this is the supp reg requirements for door to door were not thought about before the original question was asked.

as terry said, there is alot of work for vehicle prep to meet those requirements. for time attack style events, you can turn up in just about anything and meet very minimal requirements. ie MX5CCQ track days would be the same requirements.

the cars built for this proposed door to door qld mx5 champs would be special builds, same as any race style car out these days. a large sum of money will need to be poured into the car (and race clothing) before you even hit the tarmac. as terry said, about $4-5Kish (excluding wheels/tyres) would do it on top of the vehicle cost itself.

if it was time attack style, then you could turn up in your daily and belt it around the track.

---

as for numbers, it be best to include other makes on a individual invitational process to make up the numbers. but they would be ineligible for points/podiums/prizes etc. then faze them out over the years until you have enough mx5s doing their business.

Can't take any credit. I was just asked to have a look and keep my mouth shut.
All Chris. I had nothing to do with the idea.
I really hope it takes off.

Which still doesn't allow a lot of the cars go run that people wanted to run, specifically forced induction na's and modified forced induction nb's as they don't comply with cams group 2b and 2f rules.

Big lack of interest. No point buying grid space if no one is going to race.
That's life. :D

True. I'd be still keen to give it legs, but as Toppertree points out, if we have only 3 cars show up, what's the point.

If you are keen, put ya name down and we can judge interest here...

Good. Build a Prod Sports car and stop trying to compete against us.

Not everybody wants to, so unless you wish to show interest in this type of alternate event, no need to reply yeah?
