So far there seems to be an awful lot of discussion as to how the current rules can be stretched, blurred and circumvented.
Our group did not just happen overnight. This has been coming for nearly 12 months with many current and former racers, track owners, promoters and sponsors included in the discussions to come up with a set of guidelines we wish to work within. At this point we have been both overwhelmed and encouraged with the feedback we have received and this reflects the current dissatisfaction of racing at this level.
With Modern Sports Cars we are starting with fresh set of ideas to bring budget, grassroots motorsport back to as many people as we can. One exciting development is the prospect of introducing a whole new group of people coming from track days and supersprints and enables them to go racing.
There are quite a few of us who have been around racing for a while and seen many people come and go with grand intentions and limited ability. Within a short time their cars are quickly pegged as being questionable and once the irregularities are identified the person jumps up and down and wants the rules changed to suit their car. Additionally track promoters and clubs include cars that don’t meet the rules to boost the numbers on the grid, or because the guy who drives the Ferrari is a nice guy who sponsors the promoting car club event……
I cannot stress the importance of reading the rules – it’s not rocket science. Yes there are a few technical areas that may need clarification and in time we will do our best to clean these up.
There’s and old adage that says “to finish first, first you have to finish”. I’d like to point out that before you finish you first have to get on the grid. This is what you should be aiming to do. Perhaps instead of focusing all this energy on ways to bend rules, more satisfaction would come from preparing a car within the rules and just get out on the track and race….. Many of you coming from trackdays and supersprints will find that door to door racing is substantially different and it’s not always the most powerful car that is the fastest.
If collecting trophies is your thing, I’m sure we could get a whole heap of old ones we don’t use anymore and put them all in a box. You’d be more than welcome to take one (or more than one if it makes a difference) to take home and pop on your mantelpiece…..
We aim to make this the first of many great events and hope to get as much support as possible. This in turn will strengthen Modern Sports Cars and enable us to get more events at many different tracks. So far we are looking great for an 8 race series at 3 different tracks in 3 different States for 2014.

So this will show the EXPERTS what 2f cars can do against a 2B car.
The 2F cars are Scooter and Crewmans silver car, both 1.6l cars dríven hard as we could or dare.
Both cars legal, scooter had even been targeted at EC.

You don't need to cheat, what you do need is commitment , a sence of humour and more importantly
the trust of your fellow racers.

Were no, my 240z cost me $5k a year to race 5 sprint rounds one 1 hour race and 2 hill climb events plus a couple of track days.
Tbro would spend a lot less running scooter.
A budget of a couple of brand would see you run the series in reasonably standard car.

Roster depending, I'm in for 2014 and gearing up for PSCRAQ and Modern Sports Cars, may even try and squeeze in some club sprints as well but they will not be a priority.

Thanks to some helpful advice I have to revisit my splitter plans as what is suitable for a track day or time attack is not 2B compliant
Undertrays may be installed, including a splitter, and be used as an aerodynamic aid. No part of the undertray/splitter may extend further rearward than the leading edge of the front tyres, it must not project any further forward than the original bodywork and no wider than the outer edge of the tyres at the wheel hubs, be no lower than the lowest point of the bodywork and remain parallel with the sills. (Tyres must be inflated to a minimum of 1.8 bar of pressure.)
Any material which supports or locates the undertray/airdam which extends further rearward that the leading edge of the front tyres must be perforated with minimum 50mm diameter
holes with centres no more than 150mm apart.
I could build two but it maybe smarter to build a spare that is 2B suitable as I will have a backup set of mounts.
